(Minghui.org) After seven Falun Gong practitioners in Lingyuan City, Liaoning Province, were arrested together, two of them were asked to donate their organs. They refused, knowing all too well the state-sanctioned forced live organ harvesting from Falun Gong practitioners.
Ms. Wang Xiuyu, Mr. Wu Dianming, Ms. Zhang Hongmi, Ms. Song Shuzhi, Ms. Liang Jin’e, and Ms. Wang Liying were arrested on May 8, 2025, while studying Falun Gong books at the home of practitioner Cheng, whose first name wasn’t known.
Over ten officers broke in, seized Ms. Wang Liying, a native of nearby Jianping County who had been on the run to avoid the persecution, and dragged her to a police car. The police also videotaped the remaining six practitioners and threatened them not to talk or move. Ms. Liang passed out during the arrest and was carried to the police car.
The police confiscated all seven practitioners’ Falun Gong books and raided their homes. They revealed that they had been monitoring them long before the arrests.
Except for Ms. Wang Liying (whose current detention location remains unknown), the other six practitioners were taken to the Sanshijiazi Police Station for interrogation. Their family members were also summoned to the police station and ordered to sign certain statements. All six practitioners were released in the evening after each had paid a 1,000-yuan fine.
The six practitioners were summoned to the police station the next day. Ms. Song and Ms. Liang had their blood samples forcibly taken and were each given ten days of detention. The other four practitioners were released due to their advanced age.
Ms. Liang’s husband is incapacitated after having a stroke. Her family carried her husband to the police station, demanding her release to care for her husband. The police said that’s none of their business.
The police first took Ms. Song and Ms. Liang to the Chaoyang City Hospital for physical examinations. They were both found to have medical conditions and were denied admission by the Chaoyang City Lockup. [Lingyuan City is a county-level city under the jurisdiction of Chaoyang City. Lingyuan doesn’t have a women's detention facility. All female Falun Gong practitioners arrested there would be sent to the Chaoyang City Lockup].
The police then took Ms. Song and Ms. Liang to the Chaoyang County Hospital. They talked to the doctor for half an hour. When they returned the practitioners to the lockup, the guards there agreed to take them.
At the lockup, both practitioners again had their blood samples taken. The guards also took their photos and collected their fingerprints. A female guard said to them, “Don’t you emphasize compassion? You should donate your organs to those in need of them. If you agree, you can sign the consent form.”
“Isn’t this (live organ harvesting) killing people?” the practitioners responded.
“You can donate your cornea and other organs when you die,” the guard said.
After ten days of detention, both practitioners were released. The police extorted another 500 yuan from Ms. Song’s family, claiming to be the cost of her physical examination.
