Introducing Falun Dafa at New York Street Fairs

(Minghui.org) New York’s Summer Street Fairs are a distinctive part of city life and feature food, handicrafts, entertainment and a vibrant community atmosphere. Falun Dafa practitioners in New York have been introducing the spiritual practice there.

Many people were drawn to the Falun Dafa booth on June 1, 2025. Practitioners explained what Falun Dafa is and told them about the ongoing persecution in China. One lady from China, who was touring the U.S., took some materials and a copy of the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party and said she would give them to her relatives and friends in China.

Mitali, a student from India who is studying at a university in New York, said her mother began practicing Falun Dafa ten years ago. She was happy to see the familiar lotus flower keepsakes and practitioners’ booth. She said she wants to join them during the next street fair.

Many students from China who study in New York also passed by the Falun Dafa booth. The practitioners smiled, greeted them and clarified the truth about the persecution.

Practitioners also set up a booth in the Bronx on June 14, 2025. Although it rained that day, local residents were interested in the information about Falun Dafa and the books such as the Nine Commentaries and How the Specter of Communism Is Ruining Our World. Some registered for the Nine Day Falun Dafa Class to learn the exercises.

One man told a practitioner that his colleague works in a hospital in China and told him that the forced organ harvesting is really happening. However, this news is not reported in the papers in China. He watched the documentary State Organs and said the CCP’s atrocities must be stopped. He signed the petition to show his support for the Falun Gong Protection Act.

A couple from Mexico crossed the road with their child to talk to a practitioner. She explained that many people in Mexico practice Falun Dafa, and it is practiced freely around the world. Only in China does the practice face brutal suppression and persecution. After they understood the facts, the couple signed the petition to show their support for the Falun Gong Protection Act.
