Warm Response

While waiting for the parade to start, some students asked about Falun Gong.

When a student saw the Falun Dafa (Falun Gong is also known as Falun Dafa) banner, he and his friend chatted with practitioners. This student previously heard about the persecution in mainland China by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), and told his friend about the religious suppression there, and said that Falun Gong is popular in Taiwan and other countries.

When he saw the club members preparing for the parade, one alumni gave practitioners a thumbs up and said, “I support your group.” Noticing the lotus flowers brought by club members, some students asked about them and were happy to receive the flower which bore the words: “Falun Dafa” and “Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance.”

The parade started at 6:30 p.m., the Falun Gong Twin Cities Club members’ float was decorated with a large pink lotus flower and practitioners dressed in traditional Chinese costumes waved to spectators. Practitioners carried banners in front of, and behind the float, and practitioners distributed lotus flowers along the parade route.

More than one thousand lotus flowers were distributed by the time the parade ended.
