“Divine Compassion”

Business owner Sachiyo Suzuki saw Shen Yun in Nagoya on December 25. This was her third time to see Shen Yun.

“I came to the realization that this is how divine compassion is. I hope this message can be spread widely,” Ms. Suzuki said.

Ms. Suzuki believed that in this modern society where there is material abundance, people are forgetting the existence of the divine, yet the existence of the divine is crucial to humans. “If we live according to the divine’s wishes, and everyone holds this kind of faith, everyone would become very happy,” she said.

“Deeply Touched My Soul”

Yukinori Hirabayashi, president of a company that manufactures IT terminal machines, at the Shen Yun performance in Kyoto on January 3 (The Epoch Times)

Yukinori Hirabayashi, the president of a company that manufactures IT terminal machines and develops computer systems, saw Shen Yun in Kyoto on January 3. This was his fourth consecutive year to see Shen Yun.

Mr. Hirabayashi said that he would never get tired of listening to the erhu solo. “Seems to be a simple instrument with only two strings, but it can play timbres that are full of layers. This is the appeal of the erhu. I especially enjoyed that healing melody that was brought out by the performer’s flexible fingering technique variations. Erhu is truly a soul-soothing instrument,” he said.

He added that the tenor’s performance also left a deep impression on him. Mr. Hirabayashi stated that the tenor’s voice was full, smooth, loud, and clear, as well as full of energy, and brought thought-provoking messages. “The lyrics delivered extraordinary messages. One of them mentioned, ‘Many people in the world come from the heavenly world.’ This kind of messages moved me very much and deeply touched my soul,” he said.

“Shen Yun uses the arts to present profound meaning like this, as well as the universal values of Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance. Truly outstanding!” said Mr. Hirabayashi.

“This Is a World-class Top Performance”

Hiroshi Nakada, former executive director of Fujitsu Hokuriku Systems, at the Shen Yun performance in Nagoya on December 26 (The Epoch Times)

Hiroshi Nakada, former executive director of Fujitsu Hokuriku Systems, saw Shen Yun in Nagoya on December 26.

“This is a world-class top performance. I’m deeply moved. It’s wonderful,” Mr. Nakada said.

“There is divine presence no matter where in the world. Respecting the divine can make one at peace. I like this kind of theme very much. Humans absolutely should not ignore the divine. Seeing such a good program today made me realize this point again,” he said.

“I was thinking while watching the performance, can we return to the heavens? So we should definitely do more kind deeds. Let us believe in faith and do more good deeds. Otherwise we cannot go to the heavens. At the same time, wealth cannot be brought to the heavens. The more I watched the more I felt that it was truly the case,” Mr. Nakada said.

“Part of the Path Toward Peace”

Takuji Ooya, member of the Hyogo Prefectural Assembly, at the Shen Yun performance in Nishinomiya on the evening of January 8 (The Epoch Times)

Takuji Ooya, member of the Hyogo Prefectural Assembly, saw Shen Yun in Nishinomiya on the evening of January 8. This was his third time seeing Shen Yun.

“The performance is extremely beautiful. Everything is beautiful and excellent, and had an elegant quality,” Mr. Ooya said.

“Looking at the world, there’re still many conflicts and real world peace will still need a long time,” he said. “But I think truly valuable things are probably like this. This method of crossing national and ethnic boundaries, sharing traditional values, and reaching mutual resonance, is perhaps part of the path toward peace.

“Only through personal experience can you feel the preciousness of Shen Yun,” he added.

Virtues that “Help People Reflect on Themselves”

Tsuyoshi Matsumoto, principal of a middle school in Kyoto, and his wife and daughter saw Shen Yun in Kyoto on January 3.

Mr. Matsumoto spoke about the traditional values presented in the performance, “These virtues not only touch the audience, but also help people reflect on themselves and elevate their tolerance and broad-mindedness.”

Regarding the concept of “unity of heaven and man” in traditional Chinese culture, Mr. Matsumoto said, “This kind of concept should stay in everyone’s heart. Shen Yun’s performance allowed us to reflect on our shortcomings. For example, when we do something bad, we can remember a wake-up call like ‘There are divine beings three feet above your head’ – which is also very important.”

“Children these days seem to frequently feel confused about moral concepts. If they can watch performances like Shen Yun, their hearts will be purified and will become more rich and fulfilled,” Mr. Matsumoto said.

His daughter also said about the performance, “Great! It felt very spectacular and my heart was awed.”

“World-class Dancers”

Professional stage videographers Kazuma Sugihara and Tsutomu Kurokawa saw Shen Yun in Nagoya on December 26.

Mr. Kurokawa said, “Shen Yun’s stage lighting technology can be called top-level.” He explained that the lighting not only kept the backdrop clear and bright, but also ensured that the performers were under good light – which is in fact very challenging to achieve.

Mr. Sugihara said, “That this many world-class dancers could gather in the same art troupe in a matter-of-course manner and cooperate with each other tacitly on the same stage – this gives you a feeling of incredible ‘abnormality.’ You don’t see this kind of team with a gathering of top elite dancers under usual circumstances.”

“Must-see Top Choice”

Tatsuya Dejima, composer, guitarist, and member of the Japanese Society for Rights of Authors, Composers and Publishers, at the Shen Yun performance in Kyoto on the evening of January 4 (The Epoch Times)

Tatsuya Dejima, composer, guitarist, and member of the Japanese Society for Rights of Authors, Composers and Publishers, saw Shen Yun in Kyoto on the evening of January 4.

“I did not only stay at the music, but focused more on the visual effects, colors, expressiveness of the dancing, etc., because these are truly amazing. I’ve been deeply moved,” Mr. Dejima said.

“This is an extremely accomplished artistic feast! Using the five thousand years of history and cultural depth as the background – this meticulously planned and created work is truly admirable.

“I noticed that it included Confucianism’s spirit and thoughts, like the moral concepts promoted by Confucius, and Lao Tzu’s philosophical thoughts – the wisdom of ancient sages. These concepts emphasize people’s inner world and are the foundation of Chinese culture and are also among the most precious values of human society.

“I very much admire what Shen Yun is doing. I also hope to use my own way to accomplish this mission.

“So I want to say: I love Shen Yun from the bottom of my heart!

“Shen Yun is the must-see top choice among all performances,” Mr. Dejima said.

“The Level of Performance Is Remarkable”

Yasukiyo Ueda and his wife at the Shen Yun performance in Kyoto on January 2 (The Epoch Times)

Japanese inventor Yasukiyo Ueda and his wife saw Shen Yun in Kyoto on January 2.

“I’m so glad I finally got to see the show,” Mr. Ueda said.

“I’ve known about Shen Yun for a long time, and I’ve always wanted to see the performance. When I heard it was coming to Japan, I knew this was my chance, so I immediately booked my tickets,” he said.

“The performance is remarkable. What really amazed me was their incredible jumping ability. In gymnastics, athletes use a springboard to achieve such height, but Shen Yun dancers jump so high on a solid stage—it almost seems impossible for a human to do,” Mr. Ueda said.

Ueda is a Japanese inventor and co-holds multiple patents, including those for a gas separation control device, power isolation systems, and battery-powered control devices. His innovations have been integrated into various home appliances by Panasonic.

Shen Yun’s patented dynamic backdrop earned high praise from Ueda. “It’s truly an incredible masterpiece. The way the dynamic backdrop perfectly integrates with the stage performance is remarkable. I was amazed at how precisely the characters ‘jumped’ into the background—it’s almost impossible to replicate. It’s truly stunning and adds a unique, captivating element to the show,” he said.

The piece that really struck Mr. Ueda was the tenor. “The tenor’s voice was incredibly powerful, and the lyrics conveyed a deep, thought-provoking message,” he said.

Celebrating the New Year with Shen Yun gave Mr. Ueda a feeling of starting anew.

“The lyrics made me feel like the world is about to begin a beautiful new chapter. It feels especially relevant as we start 2025—I truly believe this year will bring major changes. I believe the communist regime is coming to an end,” he said.
