Ms. Li Yinghua of Shulan City, Jilin Province, suffered repeated harassment and was forced to live away from home for years to avoid being persecuted for practicing Falun Gong. She passed away on December 5, 2019.
Ms. Li was first arrested on June 28, 2000, for studying Falun Gong teachings at home with her neighbors. Her Falun Gong books were confiscated and she was given a one-year labor camp term.
Ms. Li was arrested again in October 2001 at her hair salon after a customer reported her for talking to him about Falun Gong. The police raided her residence and confiscated her Falun Gong books. She escaped from the police station but was forced to live way from home for years and moved from place to place to hide from the police.
Even after she returned home, she still faced frequent police harassment. The mental pressure took a toll on her health. She passed away on December 5, 2019.
