(Minghui.org) It was recently confirmed by Minghui.org that a Yushu City, Jilin Province resident was sentenced to three years at the end of 2023 for practicing Falun Gong, a mind-body discipline that has been persecuted by the Chinese communist regime since 1999.
Ms. Li Chuanrong, 58, was recorded by a surveillance camera when she distributed information about Falun Gong in July 2023. Officers from the Yushu City Domestic Security Office arrested her, raided her home and confiscated many Falun Gong materials. They interrogated her and asked who supplied them. They beat her when she refused to answer. She was later taken to the Yushu City Detention Center.
Ms. Li developed depression as a result of the intense interrogation. The detention center demanded more than 1,000 yuan every month from her family, but did not say whether the money was used to treat her condition.
The local court secretly sentenced Ms. Li to three years in prison in late 2023, but details of her indictment, trial or sentencing aren’t clear.
