(Minghui.org) My brother’s father-in-law was diagnosed with advanced esophageal cancer in 2019. His doctor did not tell him he had terminal cancer; instead he told him to go home, relax, eat whatever foods he wanted and do his favorite activities.
I planned to go see him before the New Year. I bought five boxes of groceries, including several kinds of meat. I also made a banner with the words, “Falun Dafa is good, Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good!” I planned to tell him that by reciting these two phrases his cancer might be resolved. But my brother stopped me and said, “My father-in-law doesn’t know that he’s terminally ill. If he finds out that he has late-stage cancer, I don’t know how he’ll react. My wife will blame you.” My brother believes that Dafa is good and read the Fa, but my sister-in-law did not believe in Dafa, so my brother advised me to be careful with what I say.
Considering the circumstance, instead of bringing the banner, I wrote down the two phrases on a piece of paper, and gave it to my brother’s father-in-law when I visited him. I only told him briefly that reciting the two phrases would be good for his health. He happily accepted the groceries but carelessly tossed aside the paper.
Devastating News
Unaware of his medical condition, he nagged his three children and insisted they take him to a major hospital. His eldest son had just been transferred and now worked in Tianjin, so they decided to take him to a hospital there. Since the elderly man’s cancer was already in the last stage, he was admitted to the intensive care unit (ICU). The cost of the ICU alone was 5,000 yuan per day. Twenty days later, after exhausting all of their savings, they could no longer afford the medical expenses.
Seeing their financial situation, the doctors told the elderly man that it was pointless to pay for the expensive medical care as there was no cure for his esophageal cancer. Hearing this, he fell into despair.
After returning home, he could no longer eat or drink, so his children took him to a local hospital. The day he was admitted, his eldest son and I ran into each other. After hearing his father’s situation, I told him, “If your father had listened to my words and recited the two phrases, “Falun Dafa is good; Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good!” last winter when I visited him, he’d have been fine by now, and you’d have saved all the money you spent on his medical cost!”
Thrilled to hear there was hope for his father, he looked up to the sky, and shouted, “Falun Dafa is good! Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good!” Then he added, “I’m going to tell my dad and ask him to recite the two phrases right now!”
As a result, my brother’s father-in-law recovered from the advanced esophageal cancer simply by reciting the two auspicious phrases, and he is still doing well today.
Interestingly, when he returned home from the hospital, he found out that the Social Security Bureau stopped paying his retirement salary because the staff believed that he already passed away. When his children went to talk to them, instead of apologizing, they said, “If he is still alive, upload the video of him talking to our facial recognition app, and then we’ll reissue his pension.”
