(Minghui.org) Practitioners in Paris held an information day in Châtelet on November 29, 2024, to introduce Falun Dafa to local residents and tourists through exercise demonstrations, posters, and flyers. They also told people how the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) has persecuted Falun Dafa since July 1999.

It was a fine day and many people stopped at the booth for more information, including college students, teachers, artists, and retirees. When they learned of the CCP’s ongoing brutality, many people signed a petition without hesitation, urging an end to the tragedies in China.

Universal Values

Karim Khalil is an actor, singer, and architect. He hadn’t heard about the persecution of Falun Dafa in China. After seeing the banners and watching practitioners’ peaceful, gentle exercises, he read each poster.

“Now I understand why the CCP targets practitioners—because the regime wants to control people’s mind,” Khalil said. “It’s very important to support Falun Dafa and that’s why I signed the petition.”

The principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance are universal values, he added. “Truthfulness means being honest and looking for truth. Even external pressure cannot stop us from pursuing higher-level principles and this is very important,” he explained. “I also like compassion and forbearance, and as an artist, I’m trying to pass on these values.” He said that kindness is critical and it brings people together. Forbearance also leads to a peaceful mind and prevents violence as well as hatred.

Teyssire Hadj Mansour, a law school student, said that basic rights should be protected. She was sorry to see the human rights abuses around the world. “The situation is complicated but we need to support these people since their voice is often ignored,” she said. “No matter what, opposing persecution globally is important and this is something we cannot ignore.”

“I Am Against Any Type of Brutality”

Dominique Raymond said she would help raise awareness of the persecution through videos.

Dominique Raymond was on a business trip from Metz in northeast France. “I’m against any type of brutality, whether it is against Asians or me who is born in France with Jewish ancestry,” she said. “It’s terrifying for me to see this – people are killed, and their organs are harvested and sold like parts.”

René Kalfon worked at an agency that helps people seeking political asylum but he’s now retired. After he heard about the CCP’s persecution of Falun Dafa including the regime’s forced organ harvesting, he signed a petition to support practitioners. He took a copy of Minghui Weekly and said, “It’s unacceptable for a totalitarian regime to mistreat Falun Dafa practitioners, Uyghurs, Tibetans, and other minority groups. This must change.”

Protecting Mankind

Malki, 37, teaches geography and history. He talked with a practitioner for a long time and said the persecution must stop. “We must protect mankind. The totalitarian regime is persecuting people because it’s scared,” he said. “It’s easy to start a war, but gaining peace needs effort and sacrifice.”

Thaïs, a pastry chef, praised Falun Dafa for the gentle exercise movements and uplifting principles. She believes the practice can benefit mind and body, and hopes more people learn about Falun Dafa. “Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is important for all of us,” she added.
