Ms. Li Yanxia was arrested at home on February 8, 2021. The police ransacked her home and pried open her safe. Her laptop computer, cellphone, over 20,000 U.S. dollars, 5,000 Chinese yuan, and car key were confiscated.
Ms. Li stood trial at the Dongguan City No. 2 Court on August 17. The judge sentenced her to 2.5 years with a 20,000-yuan fine on September 7, 2021. One of her phones remained confiscated, and other electronics, including her other phones and computer, were auctioned to pay the court fine. Her Falun Gong materials were destroyed. She appealed to the Dongguan City Intermediate Court, which ruled to uphold her original verdict.
