(Minghui.org) Master teaches us to cultivate the Great Law (Dafa) of the universe. We truly follow the Great Way. As we continue to assimilate to Falun Dafa’s principles, our ways of thinking will change. Our thoughts will become more simple, less complicated or calculating as those of most people—our wisdom will expand.

One day when I was studying the Fa, I read,

“Our school of cultivation directly targets one’s mind. When your personal interests are on the line or you are in the midst of an interpersonal conflict, can you take these matters lightly and care less about them? This is the crucial question.” (Lecture Four, Zhuan Falun)

The word “lightly” kept appearing in my mind. I suddenly understood, we are cultivating in ordinary society, and such transient things as personal interest, conflicts, and official positions are not for us to pursue. As cultivators we should let go of our attachments to them, treat them “lightly and care less about them.”

Realizing this, I remembered a conflict with a fellow practitioner. I thought I would take it lightly, and my anger indeed drifted away like wind. Then I thought about a person who owed me more than a month’s rent. I was also able to take that lightly and let go of it. By just thinking about it this way, bothersome things became less important.

I thought about my upcoming performance evaluation at work, and after encouraging myself to take it lightly, it too felt inconsequential. I next thought about my children’s shortcomings, and did the same.

In short, I am now able to employ my understanding of the Fa principle of “taking these matters lightly and care less about them” to handle things involving my personal interests.

When I realized this, I felt like I was at the highest place in the room, and my body was light and beautiful. I believe I experienced how wonderful it is to be able to dissolve myself in the Fa!

Through the improvement of my understanding and true feeling of this Fa principle, I gained a better understanding of what Master meant when he said, “a great way is extremely simple and easy.” (Chapter I, The Great Way of Spiritual Perfection)

It is true that these seemingly simple words can guide our cultivation. If we can take everything lightly, then haven’t we transcended the realm of human beings?
