(Minghui.org) In most countries, people have the freedom to choose whatever belief systems that they identify with. It’s a different story in China. Ever since the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) came to power in 1949, it has been imposing its atheist communist ideology on the Chinese people, attacking nearly all belief systems and labeling them as superstition.
Brutality and Lies
The CCP promotes materialism; it claims that empirical science is the truth and that seeing is believing. As such, it views other belief systems as idealism and superstition, as science cannot prove the existence of the divine.
In order to control people’s minds, the CCP’s brainwashing propaganda always promotes “listen to the Party, follow the Party, do whatever the Party tells you to do.” But exactly what is the Party? After targeting and killing landlords, the regime seized land ownership during Land Reform movement in the 1950s. After attacking and killing business owners, it confiscated their assets through the so-called “socialism transformation.” With tens of millions starved to death during the Great Famine and traditional values destroyed during the Cultural Revolution, the CCP advocated private ownership again since late 1970s for its own survival. Exactly what is the CCP? Nobody knows. But it forces people to believe whatever the Party says without independent thinking. Isn’t this superstition?
Since its founding decades ago, the CCP has been promoting ideas such as “dictatorship of the proletariat,” “the people are the masters of the country,” and “the working class leads everything.” But looking at reality, all these are lies. The farmers are considered a lower class in China; a large number of workers lost jobs and live in poverty; the “public servants” have accumulated massive fortunes; not only their spouses and children live overseas, many high-ranking officials hold passports of countries that the CCP deemed “rotten imperialism countries.” Furthermore, the CCP called out “how bold is the man, how much yield he dares to boast his crops can produce” during the Great Leap Forward movement and exaggerated crop yields by orders of magnitude. Is that realism?
It’s apparent that the CCP has never cared about the people. Everything it does serves to maintain its rule. Class struggle, violence, and lies are at the core of its communist ideology. That’s why it launched one political campaign after another to target specific groups of citizens. In addition to above-mentioned examples, the persecution of Falun Gong that started in July 1999 is another one.
Since its introduction to the public in 1992, Falun Gong has drawn millions of people from all walks of life and brought them enormous health benefits and moral improvement. An investigation led by Qiao Shi, a founding member of the CCP and a member of the Politburo, and other senior officials concluded that practicing Falun Gong brought only benefits and no harm to society. These finding were presented to the Central Politburo at the end of 1998 and Jiang Zemin was the head of the Politburo at the time.
But with an attempt to control people’s minds and the jealousy that the number of practitioners had exceeded that of CCP members, Jiang started the persecution in July 1999. One of the justifications he gave was that Falun Gong was superstitious, when countless miracles that cannot be explained by modern science have indeed happened to Falun Gong practitioners.
Whether it's materialism or idealism is not the real issue, since the CCP simply uses them as a tool to target those it intends to suppress.
Nature of the CCP
So, what is the CCP then? In the opening of Manifesto of the Communist Party, Karl Marx wrote, “A spectre is haunting Europe — the spectre of communism.” This shows the origin and true nature of communism.
According to Was Marx a Satanist? by Richard Wurmbrand, Marx was a Christian in his early years. But since becoming a young man, he had many anti-god writings such as:
So a god has snatched from me my allIn the curse and rack of destiny. All his worlds are gone beyond recall!Nothing but revenge is left to me!
I shall build my throne high overhead,Cold, tremendous shall its summit be.For its bulwark – superstitious dread. For its marshal – blackest agony.
Anatoly Lunacharsky, former Minister of Education in the Soviet Union, agreed. In Socialism and Religion, he wrote that Marx had stopped all contact with God and instead put Satan in front of marching proletarian columns. This explained how communism started with the riot of the Paris Commune, changed Russia to the Soviet Union, and invaded China.
After arriving in China, the communism specter destroyed thousands-year long civilization, from Confucius to renowned calligrapher Wang Xizhi. The CCP dug them out of the grave and attacked them. Besides burning ancient classics, rewriting history, and ruining temples, the regime had pushed Chinese people far away from history and the divine.
In a series of political campaigns, the CCP targeted landlords, capitalists, and intellectuals, silencing them and sending them to remote regions for reform-through-labor (Laogai). In 1989, it launched the Tiananmen Square Massacre to suppress student democracy advocates. Then years later, it started to persecute innocent Falun Gong practitioners for their belief in Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance.
After seizing power for over 70 years, the CCP has enabled the privileged class, not the proletariat, to accumulate massive fortunes. These high-ranking officials – the new landlords and capitalists – safeguard their assets with policies like “Harmonious Society,” “Stability Overpowers Everything,” and “Killing 200,000 People for 20 Years of Stability.” In other words, while lining their own pockets, they do not allow average citizens to voice concerns about social issues and inequity problems.
In summary, the CCP is like a gang or cult, because its only goal is seizing power, controlling people, and ensuring its own survival. Mao Zedong once said, “Fighting the heaven, the earth and the people is endless fun.” This explains the CCP’s behavior in the past few decades.
Suppressing the Good
In today’s China, the largest group suppressed by the CCP are Falun Gong practitioners. In contrast to the CCP’s core ideology of hatred, brutality, and lies, practitioners follow the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance to be better citizens.
I went to Beijing in 1999 to appeal for Falun Gong and was arrested. While I was kept at my city’s liaison office in Beijing, one policewoman, daughter of a city official in my home province of Heilongjiang, told us a story.
After the CCP began to suppress Falun Gong in July 1999, many practitioners went to Beijing to appeal and officials sent them back to Heilongjiang Province. At that time, this policewoman worked on the train escorting practitioners back to Heilongjiang. She said the practitioners included people of all ages, from children to elderly people.
“I have been working as a conductor for decades and I have never seen good people like them [Falun Gong practitioners],” said one conductor, “Every one was quiet without making any noise. And they packed up fruit peels and other trash in bags themselves – even children were like this. I do not need to do cleaning at all throughout the trip.”
I have a relative who was a policeman. He also told me a story. When the television and radio news media defamed Falun Gong and its founder Mr. Li Hongzhi, police dispatched some agents to a local qigong association, asking them if Mr. Li had paid taxes while giving lectures in our city. The qigong association showed them a tax receipt as proof. In fact, the association once complained that Mr. Li charged too low a fee for the class. At that time, other qigong systems charged about 100 yuan, but Mr. Li only charged new students 40 yuan for 9 days of lecture and returning students 20 yuan. The qigong association once asked Mr. Li to increase the price, but Mr. Li refused. Officials of the association were upset at the time because a lower price meant lower commissions submitted to them. But they were also impressed by Mr. Li’s righteousness.
Since its introduction to the public in 1992, Falun Gong has been helping people free of charge, all around the world. Countless families have benefited from it. It is the CCP that is arresting, detaining, and torturing practitioners. The crimes even include gang rape and forced organ harvesting.
So exactly what is the CCP? It is not hard to find out based on above facts.
