Texas: Houston Residents Support Falun Dafa Practitioners’ Efforts to Counter the CCP’s Persecution

(Minghui.org) Throughout the summer, Falun Dafa practitioners in Houston have collected signatures in Herman Park to raise awareness of the persecution of their faith by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP).

One day in June, practitioners Ms. Zhang and Ms. Chen met a family of four. Mark, the husband, took a flyer and introduced his Chinese wife to the practitioners. Mark said he had been reading The Epoch Times every day and learned about the CCP’s crimes.

Practitioners told Mark and his wife that by extending its persecution overseas, the CCP has harmed the entire world. They explained that practitioners were there to alert people to the threat. Mark’s wife was moved to tears and said, “You have done a great job! Is there anything I can do to help you?” Both of them signed the petition calling for an end to the persecution and said they would tell their family and friends about it.

When practitioners asked the wife if she wanted to quit any CCP organizations with a nickname or an English name, she said decisively, “I want to quit with my real name.” Afterwards, she took a screenshot of the confirmation for her record.

She told practitioners, “I’m grateful for this chance to meet you! God bless you! When my children get older I’ll have more time, and I will volunteer to help you! What you are doing is great!” The practitioners were moved to tears by her sincerity.

When she received their group photo from Ms. Chen the next day, Mark’s wife replied, “We are fortunate to meet you, and we’re proud of your contribution to mankind! God is with you!”

One Sunday afternoon, a Western man named Leon greeted Ms. Zhang in fluent Chinese, “Hello! You have been working hard!” The man’s wife was Chinese and said he had great interest in Chinese culture. The man said in Chinese, “I know more about Chinese culture than American culture. I have been reading The Epoch Times and watching NTDTV since their early periods. I have also read the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party. I know exactly what the CCP is. It’s a demon.”

Both Leon and his wife signed the petition. They said they wanted to help by spreading the word to more people.

Valle and Zepeda, two Hispanic residents, read the display board in Spanish and talked with a practitioner. The practitioner told them the benefits of Falun Dafa and gave them flyers and paper lotus flowers. Both of them and their family members signed the petition.

Another woman, Nicole, gave a practitioner a warm hug upon hearing that she was a Falun Dafa practitioner. Nicole said, “I know that Falun Dafa has suffered a lot.” She gave practitioners a thumbs-up and said, “What you are doing is great!” She told the three family members who were with her about Falun Dafa, and all of them signed the petition. Nicole held a practitioner’s hands, and both of them were moved to tears.

One Saturday, Ms. Zhang met three young people in the park. The young woman in the group said, “I heard about the persecution from my family. The Chinese Communist Party is evil!” She told her two friends, “It’s important to sign this petition.” All of them signed. They came back after a while and told the practitioner, “You will be in our prayers! What you are doing is great!”
