(Minghui.org) Two residents of Shenzhen City, Guangdong Province were sentenced to prison for their faith in Falun Gong, a spiritual discipline that has been persecuted by the Chinese communist regime since 1999.
Mr. Luo Ruijing, 84, was reported for distributing Falun Gong informational materials in a residential area on March 29, 2020 and arrested on April 1. He was later sentenced to one and a half years with a 5,000-yuan fine by the Yantian District Court. He appealed the verdict, but the Shenzhen City Intermediate Court upheld the original verdict on January 15, 2021.
Ms. Li Chunxian, a 59-year-old native of Xishui County, Hubei Province, was arrested on May 21, 2020, after being reported for putting up Falun Gong posters in a park four days earlier.
The Longgang District Procuratorate approved her arrest on June 23. She was sentenced to one year with a 3,000-yuan fine on April 1, 2021, also by the Yantian District Court. Her appeal was rejected by the Shenzhen City Intermediate Court, as well.
