Thoughts on the Call for Submissions to Commemorate World Falun Dafa Day: Bringing Hope to People

(Minghui.org) It has been a year since Call for Submissions to Commemorate World Falun Dafa Day 2020 was published. As Falun Dafa practitioners, we have experienced various chaos and different kinds of tests in the past year, from the 2020 U.S. election to the Chinese Communist Party (CCP)'s “zero-out” campaign.

Practitioners have had different reactions to these happenings. Some have been genuinely cultivating and truly cherishing the time extended by Master’s sacrifice. Some practitioners have been hindered by their fear, attachment to time, and other kinds of human notions. Right when they calmed down and were about to become diligent, they got disturbed by some prophecies and predictions by practitioners.

Master said,

“What I want to tell you is this: You have gone through great trials and hardships to arrive at where you are today. By all means, you shouldn’t let your heart and mind bob about like duckweed, stirred at the first hint of wind.” (“On the Novel The Cosmic Disaster”, The Essentials of Diligent Progress Vol. III)

This year's Call for Submissions to Commemorate World Falun Dafa Day 2021 came at the time when some practitioners felt down and lost. The submissions may include both articles and artwork such as photography, music, painting, poems, and calligraphy.

“The purpose is to bear witness to the wonderfulness of Dafa disciples cultivating under the guidance of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance, to attest to the compassionate sacrifice made by Master Li Hongzhi for Dafa disciples and the world’s people. This will bring facts and hope to more people for them to come to know Falun Dafa,” wrote the notice.

After reading and thinking about it, I came to many understandings.

Calming Our Heart

Many things that occurred during the U.S. general election were surprising. The reality seemed to be different from what we had expected. But no matter how complicated the situation may appear, aren't all of them under the control of Master?

The U.S. general election was also a process for everyone to choose his or her future. Compassionate Master blocked the tribulations from the vicious forces and shouldered the karmic burden of beings in the universe. Master’s compassion is boundless, allowing every being to have another chance to select his or her future.

But influenced by the vicious communist elements, many people are still wasting their time and some are even participating in the persecution of Falun Dafa. As Fa-rectification period Dafa disciples, we have the mission to save sentient beings, which means we must cherish every opportunity that allows us to work together to spread the facts of Dafa on a large scale.

The call for submissions by Minghui is such a great opportunity. We should take this opportunity, calm down and reflect on our cultivation state.

More specifically, we have cultivated so many years and Master has given us so much. But how much have we contributed when it is time for us to assist Master during the battle between good and evil? We should be able to remain undisturbed no matter what happens in this everyday society.

Remaining Diligent

Due to the communist elements, the U.S. general election had many surprises. Inside China, the CCP also intensified the persecution against Falun Dafa and launched the “zero-out” campaign to harass practitioners across China. Out of fear, some practitioners yielded under the pressure and signed documents to renounce their faith against their will. They later regretted their actions and were in great sadness. There were also practitioners who were taken to brainwashing centers, where they were deceived and even turned against Dafa.

We practitioners came to the human world with a mission to assist Master in saving sentient beings. Just like in the opening remarks in the movie Coming for You, “The mortal world can blind people. It’s a dangerous place. After we descend, let’s remind one another not to get lost.” Let us cherish the opportunity and remain diligent just like when we first began to cultivate.

Bringing People Hope

Master is very compassionate to both practitioners and non-practitioners. But many people are still influenced by the communist elements and lost in the maze of the human world. We cannot afford to see these beings sinking further in the secular world. After all, we have the mission of saving them. Therefore, we need to tell them the facts of Dafa so that they can see hope.

By writing down our cultivation experiences, either big or small, we are not only validating the Fa, but also sharing the wonderfulness of Dafa with people, so as to help them develop a positive attitude towards Dafa.

Some Tips

The call for submissions started on March 3 and ends on April 13. I think it is better to start early, so that there will be enough time to plan and review the contents.

It will also be beneficial if the language is easy to understand so that people from diverse backgrounds can understand it and resonate with what we write. Our articles should have a well-defined theme, and the language should be concise and clear. Such high quality articles will engage readers better. I hope we can all participate in writing articles with a pure heart and make it a great, successful event.
