The Pandemic Is Targeting the CCP and Its Followers

(Minghui.org) As of January 25, approximately one year after the lockdown of Wuhan, where the coronavirus broke out, the disease has infected over 100 million people globally with a death toll of more than two million.

Despite scientists' best efforts to get to the bottom of the virus, it still remains a mystery when the pandemic will come to an end and how many more people will become its victims. It is especially the case given the more infectious variants emerging across the continents.

Looking at how the disease started and where it has spread, there is clear indication that the pandemic came for the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and whoever has an affinity for it. 

According to traditional Chinese culture, plagues or other misfortunes may follow bad deeds done by people and/or their rulers. The CCP has caused 80 million deaths, including 45 million alone during the Great Chinese Famine between 1959-1961. The death toll was even higher than the combined casualties caused by the Nazis and the Soviet Union, two of the most notorious regimes that brought tremendous damage to society in the last century. The former killed 6 million Jews and millions of other victims, while about 20 million died because of Bolsheviks.

With an inherent nature of brutality, hatred, and lies, the CCP silenced intellectuals in the Anti-Rightist movement in the 1950s, wiped out Chinese traditional culture in the 1960s, exploited the help from the West in the 1970s to later grow into the second-largest economy in the world, destroyed China’s dream of democracy in the 1980s, and started persecuting Falun Gong in the 1990s by inciting the public's hatred towards peaceful practitioners who strive to live by the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance to be better people.

More than two decades have passed, but the persecution of Falun Gong, also known as Falun Dafa, remains unabated. In the meantime, Falun Gong practitioners have never stopped their efforts to expose the CCP's lies and brutality. After the coronavirus broke out, they felt even more urgency to inform the public of how the CCP has been using similar tactics in its mishandling of the pandemic to those employed in its persecution of Falun Gong. They also advised people to sever ties with the CCP so as to avoid being held responsible for its crimes against innocent people. Many who heeded the advice and expressed support for Falun Dafa have been blessed, including those who recovered from coronavirus infection by reciting “Falun Dafa is good.” 

Not everyone was as receptive, though. Once I explained to a friend the importance of keeping the tradition of faith, what Falun Gong is, and why the CCP mobilized the state apparatus to suppress Falun Gong, the friend agreed to quit the CCP to avoid being held responsible when it comes time to bring the CCP to justice for its crimes against innocent people. As I advised her adult daughter to also quit the CCP, the younger woman bluntly dismissed the idea, saying, “As long as I have things to eat and a place to stay, I do not care about other’s things.”

Exactly because of people's indifference, the CCP has been persecuting Falun Gong practitioners since July 1999 without any reservation. Countless practitioners have been arrested, detained, sentenced, or even killed for their organs. Many families have been broken as a result. All these happened because Falun Gong practitioners have been persisting in raising awareness of the persecution and spreading the goodness of Falun Dafa to the public. 

Many people in the West may have similar thoughts to my friend's daughter's and remain indifferent to the CCP's threats and harm. As the CCP advanced the communist ideology by giving short-term incentives, lots of businesses and governments around the world forgot about the CCP's abuse of human rights and trampling of religious freedom – the foundation of the free society. 

The reality is that, once we lose those fundamental principles, we are on the path of losing everything and it'd be hard to reverse course. On the other hand, such acquiescence by the Chinese citizens and appeasement from the West make the CCP totalitarian regime even more reckless. 

The pandemic is a case in point. The CCP's cover-up of the outbreak allowed the virus to spread to every corner of the world. As the new wave of the pandemic is ravaging the world, many people and governments have come to see the harm of the CCP and begun to take actions to counter the CCP's threats.

Since the publication of Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party in 2004, Falun Gong practitioners have helped over 371 million people quit the CCP regime and head toward a better future. When more people reject the CCP globally, the joint efforts get us closer to health and safety.
