(Minghui.org) Falun Gong practitioners in Xinxiang Women’s Prison in Henan Province are still being tortured.
Those who refuse to renounce their faith are subjected to solitary confinement, beatings, and humiliation. They are deprived of sleep, denied restroom use, starved, and forced to stand for long hours.
Ms. Liu Xia, a middle school teacher in Xinyang City, was sentenced to four years following her arrest in May 2017. She was starved, deprived of sleep, forced to stand for over ten hours each day, and deprived of water. Her legs became so swollen that she had difficulty walking.
Ms. Sun Haihong of Nanyang City was arrested in September 2019. She was beaten, deprived of sleep, and not allowed to use the restroom.
Ms. Liu Jianxia, who has been released, told a Minghui correspondent that she was only allowed to sleep between 2 and 4 a.m. each night she was incarcerated. She was beaten and verbally abused constantly. She was once held in solitary confinement for 99 days and starved. She was resuscitated in the hospital several times and was emaciated when she was released.
