1. [Chongqing] Ms. Zhang Xiaoqin Tried in Court
Ms. Zhang Xiaoqin, 58, was arrested on February 2, 2020, for telling people the best way to survive the pandemic by sincerely saying, “Falun Dafa is good.” She was not taken into custody at that time due to the pandemic situation.
Ms. Zhang was reported to the police and arrested again on June 30, 2020, for clarifying the truth in the Fuling District. Her home was ransacked.
Ms. Zhang was tried in the Nanshan District Court on the afternoon of December 22, 2020. Her family members were not allowed in the courtroom except her daughter who attended as a defender. Her attorney was also there. During the trial, she was considered a “re-offender”. She may be sentenced to three and a half years in prison.
2. [Jiamusi City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Jia Tianzhen Faces Trial
Ms. Jia Tianzhen is a retired teacher from the No. 2 Middle School of Tangyuan County, Jiamusi City. She will be tried in the Daowai District Court at 9 a.m. on December 30, 2020.
3. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Three Practitioners Harassed
Ms. Zhou Donggui, 56, lives in Shazui Brigade, Cihui Sub-district, Dongxihu District. She was called to the brigade office by the deputy caption Zhang Fei in October 2020 and was ordered to sign the guarantee statement, which she refused. She was called to meet Zhang Fei again in November 2020 and was photographed without her permission.
Ms. Huang Hongying lives in Laodianchange Community in Dongxihu District. Someone knocked on her door and demanded she sign the guarantee statement in order to remove her name from the list. They threatened to keep returning until she signed it.
4. [Guangshui City, Hubei Province] Eight Practitioners Harassed
Several practitioners were harassed December 14-19, 2020. They are Ms. Song Tianxia, Ms. Yan Hongfang, Ms. Zhu Xiuling, Lao Zhong, Mr. Xu Guanghe, Ms. Huang Yanling, Liu Zujiang (gender unknown), and Ms. Han Yufang. Ms. Han Yufang's home was also raided. Two boxes of Dafa books and stickers with truth-clarifying words were taken away.
5. [Tongshan County, Hubei Province] Wei Jinxian Arrested
Wei Jinxian (gender unknown) was arrested at home around December 20, 2020. Hua Weihong from the Tongshan County Police Department led the arrest. It is unknown where Wei Jinxian is detained.
6. [Changsha City, Hunan Province] Ms. Liu Fuchun Persecuted in Prison
Ms. Liu Fuchun has been detained in the Hunan Women’s Prison. Her family was informed that Ms. Liu was found to have kidney stones during a recent physical examination.
7. [Mishan City, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Li Hongwei Arrested
Mr. Li Hongwei was arrested a few days ago. His home was ransacked. He was taken to the police department and was ordered to sign the guarantee statement, which he refused. He was released home on the same day.
8. [Xiangyang City, Hubei Province] Mr. Zhang Chaoqun Missing
Mr. Zhang Chaoqun's home was raided on the morning of November 25, 2020, by officers from the Qilihe Police Station. He received a call from Li, deputy of the police station and was told to pick up his belongings. He has not been heard from for a week.
9. [Chongqing] Ms. Chen Shufen Harassed
Ms. Chen Shufen was harassed at home on September 24, 2020 ,by a group of people. They are from Northern New District Political and Legal Affairs Committee,Comprehensive Management Office, Jinshan Police Station, and Minxinjiayuan Neighboring Community. They tried to make her give up practicing Falun Gong. Later they also harassed her husband and her two sons.
Ms. Chen was harassed at home again on December 9, 2020, by the same four people. They took away all the Dafa books in her home and threatened to suspend her pension
10. [Leshan City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Zhong Junfang and Her Niece Huang Fangqing Arrested
Ms. Zhong Junfang and her niece Huang Fangqing were arrested at their rented home on December 25, 2020. They took away all the Dafa books and some other personal belongings. Ms. Zhong was detained for eight or nine hours before she was released. Her niece was held for a few hours.
11. [Beijing] Four Practitioners Harassed
Ms. Li Xiuling was harassed at home around 10 a.m. on December 13, 2020, by an officer from Chenggezhuang Police Station who claimed that they would not come anymore if she signed the guarantee statement, which she refused.
Ms. An Guizhi was harassed at home around December 12, 2020, by an officer from Miyun County. She refused to sign the guarantee statement.
Ms. Li Zengxia was harassed at home in Jiashan Village around December 12, 2020, by officers from the Mulin Police Station. They attempted to videotape her, which Ms. Li and her husband refused.
Ms. Gao Guihua was harassed at home in Beizhuang Village on the afternoon of December 26, 2020. Zhang Dezhen, deputy of Shisanling Police Station in Changping District, demanded to know whether Ms. Gao still practiced Falun Gong and demanded her cell phone number, which she refused.
12. [Chifeng City, Inner Mongolia] Eight Practitioners Taken to Brainwashing Center
Several practitioners were taken to a brainwashing center recently. They are Ms. Jiang Haiyan who is a teacher in the Experimental Primary School of Yuanbaoshan District, Ms. Li Xiufang, Mr. Wang Yanping, Ms. Wang Fenghua, Mr. Xue Xiangshan, Ms. Ning Yanmei, Ms. Liu Yaru, Ms. Jiang Haiyan, and Mr. Jia Guanglin.
13. [Tianjin] Ms. Zhang Hongmei Faces Family Tragedy Due to Harassment
Because of refusing to give up her practice of Falun Gong, Ms. Zhang Hongmei in Huogezhuang Town of Baidi District has been harassed and threatened repeatedly. The family noodle restaurant was ordered to close and her children were not allowed to go to school. Under great pressure, her husband cut his own arm with broken glass and tightly choked her neck.
14. [Shanghai] Mr. Liu Shunming's Pension Suspended
Mr. Liu Shunming's pension was suspended starting in December 2020 by the Social Security Center of Minhang District. Mr. Liu had been in jail for one and a half years. He was released on April 11, 2019.
15. [Shifang City, Sichuan Province] Mr. Gong Xueliang and Ms. Wang Zhongqiong Harassed
Mr. Gong Xueliang, 84, and Ms. Wang Zhongqiong, over 80, were forcibly taken to the town government on the morning of December 24, 2020. The town official Liu Shiquan took out the three statements and demanded they sign it, which they refused.
16. [Shangzhi City, Heilongjiang Province] 14 Practitioners Harassed
Since December 2020, local police officers have harassed practitioners and their families at their homes or via phone calls. These 14 practitioners have been harassed: Chen Guoling, Lu Ying, Xue Minghui, Qi Furong, Ning Xiumei, Dong Baoxia, Chen Chunsheng, Lou Yumei, Guo Yanfang, Zhang Xiuqin, Shao Mingli, Jiang Yuehua, Sun Shuyun, and Yue Shulan.
17. [Huai’an City, Jiangsu Province] Four Practitioners Persecuted
Ms. Wang Huafen and Ms. Li Guiying were tried in the Qingjiangpu District Court on September 28, 2020. Two attorneys defended their innocence during the trial.
Ms. Zhang Suying was tried in the Qingjiangpu District Court on December 9, 2020.
Ms. Lin Cuihua was arrested and detained in the Huai’an City Detention Center around December 2, 2020.
18. [Sanhe City, Hebei Province] 42 Practitioners Harassed in December
Since August 2020, practitioners in Sanhe City have been harassed by staff from the Sanhe Political and Legal Affairs Committee, the 610 Office, and the Comprehensive Administration Office. Forty practitioners were harassed from August to October 2020, 15 in November 2020, and 42 in December 2020.
Zhang Xuefu (gender unknown) received a harassment call from the Yansunlu Police Station in Yanjiao Town on December 8, 2020, that requested a home visit. Zhang Xuefu went to the police station later and was told not to practice Falun Gong. Police officer Zhang Fulin went to the practitioner’s home on the morning of December 10, 2020. The officer requested Zhang’s ID and photographed the place.
Ms. Li Guizhi was harassed at home on December 15, 2020, by two police officers and Yao Haibin, director of the Yanjiao Town Political and Legal Affairs Committee. They photographed the practitioner and her home.
Mr. Pan Baozhong was harassed at his client’s home on the afternoon of December 8 where he was doing plumbing work. Led by Wu Ruifeng the chief of Xiaowangzhuang Village, the people photographed him. The Xinji Town officials came to Mr. Pan’s plumbing shop on December 12, 2020, and photographed Mr. Pan’s wife.
Ms. Gao Jiyun was harassed at home on December 10, 2020, by Xue Libing, chief of the Huyuan Village of Xinji Town. They photographed Ms. Gao.
Mr. Li Qingzeng was harassed at home on December 9, 2020. Liu Guangzhu, security director of Lizhuang Village, came to photograph him.
The Party director of Lizhuang Village, Pan Zhenzhong came to Mr. Pan Zhenfang’s home on December 12, 2020, but failed to meet him. He made multiple harassment calls to Mr. Pan Zhenfang and requested he come to the village office.
Ms. Kan Yufang's family member received a harassment call on December 12, 2020. She was threatened and told not to practice Falun Gong.
Ms. Li Fengyin's family member received a harassment call from a Xinji Town official on December 15, 2020. He was told to send some photos.
Officials in Zhangzhuang Village of Xinji Town came to Ms. Li Cuilan’s home in mid-December 2020. When they learned that Ms. Li was at her son’s home, they went to harass her son but failed to find her. A few days later, they came to Ms. Li’s home again and photographed her.
Wu Ruifeng the chief of Xiaowangzhuang Village came to the home of Lu Yuzhu (gender unknown) in October 2020. After not seeing the practitioner, they went to the home of the practitioner’s relatives. Wu Ruifeng signed the statement on behalf of Lu and videotaped them.
Ms. Wang Shulan and Ms. Wu Qingxia were harassed at home in September 2020 by Li Jingqin the village official of Lizhuang Village. Their family members were forced to sign the guarantee statement on behalf of practitioners and the process was videotaped.
Six people from the neighborhood committee came to Ms. Meng Qingxiang’s home in November 2020. They tore off the sticker on the door that had the words, “Falun Dafa is good.”
19. [Anda City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Zhao Xiuzhi and Ms. Pei Yufeng Arrested
Ms. Zhao Xiuzhi was arrested at home around 6 p.m. on December 24, 2020. Her home was searched from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. The police took away Dafa books, a laptop, and a printer. Ms. Zhao’s family members were also taken away for interrogation.
Ms. Pei Yufeng was arrested around 8:30 p.m. that same evening when she came back home. She was taken to the police department for interrogation. Her home was ransacked. All her Dafa books, desktop computer, laptop, and printer were taken away.
20. [Chongqing] Mr. Gong Houdi and His Wife Ms. Wang Lubi Harassed
Mr. Gong Houdi and his wife Ms. Wang Lubi were harassed at their workplace, Huawei Electronic and Equipment Factory at the end of October 2020. Officer Sun Diancheng from the Xiema Town Police Station in Beibei District came to videotape them without permission.
The couple's son was harassed in mid-December 2020 by officers from the Chaoyang Police Station. He was told that his daughter's schooling would be affected if his parents refused to sign the guarantee statement.
Mr. Gong was harassed again on December 23, 2020, by officer Sun Diancheng.
21. [Guiyang City, Guizhou Province] Ms. Yan Yakun Arrested
Ms. Yan Yakun was arrested in Qianlingshan Park on March 7, 2020, by officers from Beijing Road Police Station. They found the truth-clarifying materials she was carrying. Her home was ransacked. Samples of her blood and fingerprints were taken in the Shixi Road Police Station. She was told to report to the police station every Saturday, Sunday and Monday. A surveillance camera that is connected to the Big Data Network has been installed at her door.
22. [Baiyin City, Gansu Province] Mr. Yu Youzhen and Family Members Harassed
Since May 2020, Mr. Yu Youzhen and his family members have been harassed many times by the officials and the police in Shangshawo Town, Jingtai County, Baiyin City.
Mr. Yu worked outside of his hometown for years. When he came back in May 2020, the town officials and the town police officers came to harass him twice. Mr. Yu refused their request to sign the three statements.
From September to November, Mr. Yu’s son has been repeatedly harassed by the town officials and the police officers via home visits or phone calls. They threatened the son that his mother Ms. Wu Xueyu would be taken into custody if she did not sign the three statements.
Officers from the town police station traveled to Ms. Wu Xueyu’s workplace in Lanzhou City twice in November 2020. They didn’t find Ms. Wu. They went to harass her relatives including her brother, sister, brother-in-law, and her daughter. They even harassed her nephew Mr. Wu Yong who works in Baiyin Power Bureau and pressured him to locate his aunt.
They also went to talk to the school principals where her grandsons studied in order to use her grandchildren to locate Ms. Wu.
23. [Mishan City, Heilongjiang Province] 12 Practitioners Arrested in December
Twelve practitioners have been arrested in Mishan City between December 16-24, 2020. They are Shuai Yujuan, Wu Yongxia, Lao Xia, Luo Libin, Chen Quanrong, Guo Xiuyan, Yang Xiaolin, Xing Delu, Jin Shaohua, Xin Lilian, Li Hongwei and Jiang Hongfu. Among them, four are still detained including Yang Xiaolin, Xing Delu, Luo Libin, and Chen Quanrong.
After Ms. Yang Xiaolin was arrested and her home was ransacked. Her husband Mr. Xing Delu was tricked by the police to send money to his wife and was arrested in the police department. Ms. Yang Xiaolin was later sent to the detention center.
Five or six officers from the No.1 Police Station ransacked Ms. Jin Shaohua’s home and arrested her. Her family was harassed four or five times by Mishan Town officials and village officials in Tatou Village of Heitai Town. Even her young daughter's teacher was pressured to advise the family to sign the guarantee statement on behalf of Ms. Jin.
Ms. Liu Hui was arrested some time ago and was under so-called residential surveillance. Recently, in order to make her sign the guarantee statement, her daughter has been threatened with salary suspension, her children's schooling, and her qualification to take the civil service exam. Under tremendous pressure, her daughter developed a heart problem and had to seek medical treatment.
24. [Tangshan City, Hebei Province] Three Practitioners Harassed
Three officers from the Shuiwuzhuang Police Station in Kaiping District came to Ms. Wang Hui’s home in Shuigang Community on the morning of December 9, 2020. Ms. Wang Hui was not at home. They returned around 8 p.m. and demanded to know whether Ms. Wang still practiced Falun Gong.
These officers also came to the homes of Ms. Liu Chunling and Mr. Chen Liwu in Shuigang Community on the same day to harass them.
Mr. Chen Liwu's family member received a harassment call from a community member on the afternoon of December 25, 2020. The community staff told Mr. Chen or his family member to come to the community office to sign the guarantee statement.
25. [Xi’an City, Shaanxi Province] Six Practitioners Harassed
Ms. Zhao Guifang was harassed at home on the afternoon of June 7, 2020, by the police. They came in and photographed the place. The police returned to her home on December 8, 2020, and photographed again.
The police came to knock on the door of Ms. Zhang Huixia’s home around noon on December 8, 2020. When Ms. Zhang’s husband refused to open the door, they fiercely pounded on the door. After they came in, they photographed Ms. Zhang and demanded to know whether she still practiced Falun Gong. Her son also received a harassment call from them that afternoon.
Ms. Liang Caiying in her 80s was harassed at home by the police in November 2020. They photographed her.
Ms. Gao Suling’s daughter received two harassment calls from Jingwei Subdistrict Office in November 2020 that requested her mother Ms. Gao or herself to sign the guarantee statement.
The police knocked on the door of Zhang Huaqiao (gender unknown) on the morning of December 3, 2020, and requested Zhang to sign the guarantee statement in order to clear their name from the list.
Officers from the Yuanqu Police Station came to knock on the door of Ms. Wang Xiuqin’s home. Ms. Wang was not at home.
26. [Yueyang City, Hunan Province] Four Practitioners Harassed
Ms. Xiao Xiangman and Long Mengjian (gender unknown) live in Xiangbin Town, Xiangyin County. Ms. Hu Guizhi and Li Guorong (gender unknown) live in Nanhuzhou Town. In early November 2020, they were harassed at home by local town and village officials. The Dafa books and the photos of the spiritual practice's founder were taken away. The posters at home with truth-clarifying words were torn off.
Several days later, seven police officials, led by Yong Fangxiang from Xiangbin Town, came to the homes of Ms. Xiao Xiangman and Long Menjian. They photographed and videotaped their homes and claimed they would not come if the practitioners signed the guarantee statement. The practitioners refused.
Li Guorong and Ms. Wu Guizhi in Nanhuzhou Town also refused to cooperate with the police.
27. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Ms. Wang Yilin Sentenced to Three-and-a-half Years
Ms. Wang Yilin, 57, was arrested on April 20, 2019, for telling people about Falun Gong. She was tried by the Chaoyang District Court on October 30, 2019, and December 20, 2020. The judge recently sentenced her to three-and-a-half years. Her family was not informed of her verdict. She has appealed the case to the Changchun City Intermediate Court.
28. [Beijing] Ms. Ma Junfang Sentenced to Three Years
Ms. Ma Junfang, 75, was arrested on January 9, 2020, for talking to people about Falun Gong. The police ransacked her home and confiscated her Falun Gong books and other personal belongings. The Tongzhou District Court sentenced her to three years with a 3,000 yuan fine on September 14, 2020. She is still held at the Tongzhou District Detention Center at the time of writing.
Prior to her latest sentence, Ms. Ma was sentenced to a labor camp at the beginning of the persecution for appealing to the central petition office for the right to practice Falun Gong.
29. [Tonghe County, Heilongjiang Province] Three Women Sentenced to Prison
Ms. Chen Shoumei, 64; Ms. Zhang Guiyun, 68; and Ms. Zhang Xiuying (no relation to Ms. Zhang Guiyun), 57, were arrested on September 11, 2019. The Tonghe County Procuratorate approved their arrests on October 24, 2019. The Yilan County Court held a video hearing of their cases on November 11, 2020, and announced their verdicts recently.
Ms. Chen was sentenced to five and a half years and fined 20,000 yuan.Ms. Zhang Xiuying was sentenced to four and a half years and fined 15,000 yuan.Ms. Zhang Guiyun was sentenced to 2 years and fined 5,000 yuan.
30. [Panzhihua City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Zhong Yifang Imprisoned at the Chengdu Women’s Prison
Ms. Zhong Yifang, a retired factory worker, was arrested in mid-November 2019 for talking to people about Falun Gong. She was sentenced to four and a half years in prison in late October 2020 and taken to the Chengdu Women's Prison on November 4.
Ms. Zhong has developed severe uremia while being held in the Panzhihua City Detention Center. Her abdomen is badly swollen and she is emaciated. The guards are giving her injections every day, but it’s not clear what is in them.
She previously served one and a half years in a labor camp and eight years in prison for her faith.
31. [Haicheng City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Wang Dayong Sentenced to One-and-a-half Years
Mr. Wang Dayong was arrested on September 19, 2019, after being reported for talking to people about Falun Gong. The police ransacked his home and held him at the Erdaohe Detention Center.
Mr. Wang was tried by the Lishan Court through a video conference on October 29, 2020. He acted as his own lawyer and maintained that he did not violate any law by practicing Falun Gong. The judge Li Yueguang frequently interrupted him.
Mr. Wang was sentenced to one and a half years on November 16.
