(Minghui.org) Two Shenyang City, Liaoning Province residents were recently sentenced to prison for their faith in Falun Gong, a spiritual and meditation discipline that has been persecuted by the Chinese communist regime since 1999.

Mr. Zhang Shusen

Mr. Zhang Shusen was arrested on September 23, 2019 on his way to work. The police ransacked his home twice and took him to the Huanggu Detention Center.

Mr. Zhang was tried by the Huanggu District Court on November 24, 2020. His lawyer entered a not guilty plea on his behalf. He also testified in his own defense.

The judge sentenced him to four years in prison and a 10,000 yuan fine on November 30. He has appealed the verdict.

Ms. Wei Yuchi

Ms. Wei Yuchi, 41, was arrested at home on July 15, 2020. The police searched her place and confiscated her Falun Gong books, a photo of Falun Gong founder, and her cellphone.

Ms. Wei was tried by the Yuhong District Court on December 10, 2020 through a video conference at the Shenyang No. 1 Detention Center. Her lawyer entered a not guilty plea for her.

The judge sentenced her to five years with 5,000 yuan fine on December 20. She also appealed the verdict.
