(Minghui.org) The world changed dramatically this year after the coronavirus broke out in China and later spread to nearly 200 countries and territories. The Chinese Communist Party (CCP)’s mishandling of the epidemic has enabled many people and governments to see through its true nature. The United States has launched a series of measures and sanctions to curb the CCP’s infiltration and the threat to the world’s people.
On July 20 this year, the U.S. State Department issued a public statement, condemning the persecution of Falun Gong, also known as Falun Dafa, a mind-body practice that has been targeted by the CCP since July 1999. The Chinese version of the statement was also published on the website of the U.S. Embassy in Beijing.
Such developments present many opportunities for us, Falun Dafa practitioners, to further clarify the facts and urge the Chinese to quit the CCP and its affiliated organizations.
Master said,
“No one can salvage the wicked CCP. Now meanwhile, for Dafa disciples, the easier your environment becomes, the more you should pay attention to your own cultivation. That’s because it will be easier for those attachments of yours that you cannot detect to act up, and you are more likely to let your attachments grow. You must be sure to keep up your guard. No matter what the situation, you must be mindful of cultivating yourself. If you can keep going with that same heart you had at the beginning all the way to the end, you will undoubtedly succeed.” (“Fa Teaching Given at the 2014 San Francisco Fa Conference”)
Many practitioners followed Master’s teaching and did pretty well.
When many state and local governments in the U.S. closed businesses and kept people home, many practitioners spent more time studying the Fa and doing exercises. Some Chinese practitioners who had returned come to the U.S. read through the books Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party, Disintegrate Party Culture, How The Specter of Communism Is Ruling Our World, and The Ultimate Mission of Communism to identify the Communist Party culture in themselves and further eliminate it.
In where I live, right after the local government opened up business in Phase One, practitioners went to the local business districts to distribute materials exposing the CCP's cover-up of the epidemic and to urge people (if Chinese-speaking) to quit the CCP. Given the special period, most people weren’t busy and had time to listen to us. Some practitioners also sent information to their colleagues or friends.
While practitioners are working hard on helping everyday people understand the deceptive nature of the CCP, I would also like to remind fellow practitioners of the importance to tell people how the CCP has been persecuting Falun Dafa, as merely informing people of the CCP's cover-up of the pandemic is not enough.
I heard a story about a customer of New Tang Dynasty Television (NTDTV), a U.S. based media specialized in producing uncensored news about China, including the persecution of Falun Dafa. This customer really liked two NTDTV’s programs and even wanted to donate money to NTDTV, but he indicated that he never watched NTDTV’s programs about Falun Dafa.
Master taught us,
“However, if he says, “I oppose the wicked CCP, but I don’t approve of Falun Gong either,” that amounts to him not yet taking his stance, since there is no third choice.” (“Fa Teaching Given at the Fa Conference Marking the Tenth Anniversary of Minghui’s Founding,” Collected Fa Teachings, Vol. X)
Master also said,
“I think that at the tourist sites, you should not take quitting the Party or the Young Pioneers, or the “three withdrawals” itself, as your goal. Remember, everyone, you are to have clarifying the truth and saving people as your goal! (Enthusiastic applause) If you feel that person can be saved, then that is fine. If you feel that person is only brushing you off, that is like you have been cheated by him. Of course, if he first agrees to quit, this is already a step. Clarify the truth to him further, so he can really know it, and then it'll be considered done.” (“Fa Teaching at the 2016 New York Fa Conference,” Team Blue Translation)
There are still a lot of people who do not understand the illegality and brutality of the CCP's persecution of Falun Dafa. While more and more people may quit the CCP as the sanctions against the CCP intensify, rejecting the CCP does not mean that they have fully understood how Falun Dafa practitioners have been persecuted for upholding their faith.
Some people choose to quit the CCP for the righteous cause, but some may do it to protect their own interests. And in the latter case, we should help them develop a positive attitude towards Falun Dafa in order to be saved.
