(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 25 cities or counties in 11 provinces, where at least 57 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

1. [Qingyuan County, Liaoning Province] Ms. Ma Fengju and Ms. Liu Yuying Sentenced to Prison During First Trial
Ms. Ma Fengju and Ms. Liu Yuying were tried via video-link at the Fushun City Detention Center by the Wanghua District Court.
Ms. Ma was given a two-year-and-six-month prison term and fined 8,000 yuan. Ms. Liu was given a two-year prison term and fined 5,000 yuan. Ms. Liu hired a lawyer to appeal.
2. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Three Practitioners Arrested
Ms. Liu Jingxiu was arrested on August 6, 2020. Ms. Cui Ying, who works in an automobile factory, was arrested by officers from the Nanguangchang Police Station on the morning of September 3, 2020.
The police station planned to link the two practitioners together and make a “big case.”
Mr. Yang Zhanjiu, who runs a shoe store, and his employee Xiaoyu were also arrested on September 3. The police cut off the power first, and then got in. Mr. Yang was released for health reasons after 11:00 p.m. Xiaoyu was also released.
3. [Yuanjiang City, Hunan Province] Ms. Luo Jinhong Arrested
Five or six people from the Yuanjiang City Political and Legal Affairs Committee, the Yuanjiang City Police Department, and the Huangmaozhou Police Station brought a search warrant and broke into physics teacher Ms. Luo Jinhong’s physics laboratory in Yuanjiang City No. 3 Middle School on September 2, 2020.
They next went to her home and ransacked the place. Three printers and 50,000 yuan in cash was confiscated. She was taken to the Yuanjiang City Detention Center.
4. [Zhangjiakou City, Hebei Province] Ms. Gao Qingxiu and Ms. Sun Runtao Facing Trial
Ms. Gao Qingxiu and Ms. Sun Runtao from Guyuan County were arrested by officers from the Changliang Township Police Station on August 17, 2019, for talking to people about Falun Gong. They were placed in criminal detention. They have been held at the Zhangjiakou City Detention Center for over a year.
They will be tried at the Zhangbei County Court on September 15, 2020.
5. [Shanghai] Ms. Shi Xiaoling and Ms. Hu Fuying Held in Detention Center
Ms. Shi Xiaoling, 77, from Jing’an District, was arrested by officers from the Gaojing Town Police Station, Baoshan District, on April 24, 2020. She was officially arrested, and her case was turned over to the Procuratorate.
Ms. Shi and 65-year-old Ms. Hu Fuying have been held in the Baoshan District Detention Center.
6. [Jiamusi City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Jing Yuhua Held in Detention Center
Ms. Jing Yuhua, 63, was intercepted and arrested when she returned home on the afternoon of August 31, 2020. The arrest was made by five officers from the Jianshe Police Station who were staked out downstairs at her apartment building.
Ms. Jing was taken to the police station. The officers searched her, and took her keys. They then went to her home, ransacked the place, and confiscated her Falun Dafa books and a computer. After being interrogated, Ms. Jing was taken to the Jiamusi City Detention Center.
7. [Nanning City, Guangxi Autonomous Region] Four Practitioners Arrested
Twelve police officers broke into Mr. Lu Bo’s home and ransacked the place on March 22, 2020. They confiscated Falun Dafa books, a computer, a cell phone, printed materials, and cash. Mr. Lu, his mother Ms. Fu Shujie, Ms. Gan Yonglian, and Ms. Mo Lijuan were arrested.
The homes of Ms. Mo and Ms. Gan were also ransacked. They were released soon afterwards. Mr. Lu and his mother were released a few days later, but the police monitored the door of their home around the clock. The police did not allow them to go out freely and did not allow them to contact anyone outside.
The four practitioners were again arrested and taken to a detention center on July 6.
8. [Xingtai City, Hebei Province] Mr. Guo Jinzhao and Ms. Hu Hui Taken Into Custody
Several practitioners were arrested and taken to a brainwashing center on August 28, 2020. Their homes were ransacked.
Mr. Guo Jinzhao, 71, and Ms. Hu Hui, about 55, were placed in criminal detention and held in the Xingtai City No. 1 Detention Center.
9. [Jilin City, Jilin Province] Mr. Tong Weiguo and Ms. Wang Guisuo Sentenced
Mr. Tong Weiguo and Ms. Wang Guisuo, 74, were arrested by officers from the Shuangji Airport Police Station when they were posting Falun Gong materials on the morning of July 18, 2019. Their homes were ransacked. They were taken to a detention center.
Mr. Tong was sentenced to probation in late 2019. He has since returned home. Ms. Wang was sentenced to one and a half years in prison. She was taken to the Jilin Province Women's Prison in January 2020.
10. [Xiangtan City, Hunan Province] Ms. Liu Huilan Displaced
Officers from the Xiangshui Police Station harassed Ms. Liu Huilan again on August 27, 2020. They attempted to arrest her. She had to stay away from home and became displaced.
The officers got the phone numbers of Ms. Liu’s husband and daughter, and tried to force them to provide Ms. Liu’s whereabouts.
11. [Beijing] Ms. Chen Fengling and Ms. Xie Xiuqin Taken Into Custody
Ms. Chen Fengling was arrested by officers from the Mentougou Police Station when she was distributing information about Falun Gong in mid-April 2020. Her case is currently being prepared for trial.
Ms. Xie Xiuqin was arrested because she had a DVD about Falun Gong. She was taken to the Changyang Police Station in Fangshan District by plainclothes officers on August 2, 2020. Her home was ransacked, and her Falun Dafa books, a computer, U discs, and paper currency bills with Falun Gong information printed on them were confiscated. She was released on bail on August 24.
12. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Wan Fang Facing Trial
Ms. Wan Fang will be tried at the Harbin City No. 2 Detention Center by the Harbin Railway Court on September 9, 2020. The court used the pandemic as an excuse to prevent her family members from attending the trial.
13. [Nantong City, Jiangsu Province] Ms. Jiang Meixiang Held in Brainwashing Center
Ms. Jiang Meixiang, in her 50s, from Hefeng Village, Nanyang Town, Qidong City, was arrested and her home was ransacked by officers from the Jinhai Town Police Station on the afternoon of September 1, 2020. She is being held in a new brainwashing center in the Party School.
14. [Yi County, Hebei Province] Mr. Li Jianrong Harassed
Officers from the Qiaotou Township Police Station went to Mr. Li Jianrong’s home in Dongshanbei Village and harassed him at around 11:00 a.m. on September 1, 2020. They attempted to take samples of his blood, but Mr. Li did not cooperate and walked away. The officers took his family member instead to the police station for fingerprinting.
15. [Nanjing City, Jiangsu Province] Four Practitioners Displaced
Officers led by Li Jianhua, head of the Xuanwu District 610 Office have harassed and arrested practitioners in the district since July 10, 2020.
Ms. Li Baozhu, Ms. Wang Huilan, Ms. Ji Jianxia, and Ms. Xiong are staying away from home to avoid additional persecution.
16. [Dingxi City, Gansu Province] Several Practitioners Harassed
People went to Mr. Zhang Hengtong's and Ms. Zhang Xuanwen's parents' homes in Hepan Town, Huining County, Baiyin City, in April 2020. They asked if Mr. Zhang and Ms. Zhang were at home.
Ms. Zhang’s husband received harassing phone calls on July 21, 30, and August 18.
Officers from the Hepan Police Station went to their parents’ home again and harassed them in August.
Officers from the Huining County Domestic Security Division went to Ms. Wang Lanying’s home and harassed her in June 2020. They claimed that she visited the Minghui.org website and sued Jiang Zemin, the former head of the Chinese Communist Party. They took her son directly from his work unit, and told him to pressure his mother Ms. Wang. The police harassed her son, who does not practice Falun Gong.
Ms. Wang was later phoned and told to come to the Domestic Security Division. She refused.
A person from the residential community came on August 18 and told her to go to the community office. She refused. The constant harassment caused great mental harm to her.
Mr. Ma Junyan and his wife Ms. Ma Ruiling from Huishi Town received harassing calls from residential community in July 2020.
Over 40 people from the Provincial Political and Legal Affairs Committee, the Judicial Bureau, the Baiyin City Politics and Legal Affairs Committee, and the Huining County Domestic Security Division went to Mr. Wang Hao's and his wife Ms. He Yumei’s home on August 18, 2020. They tried to force the couple to write the three statements renouncing Falun Gong. The couple refused.
17. [Yinchuan City, Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region] Mr. Zheng Yongxin Arrested
Over ten police officers broke into Mr. Zheng Yongxin’s home and arrested him on the morning of September 2, 2020. He was taken to the Funing Street Police Station, where he was told to sign the three statements.
18. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Mr. Liu Zhongrong Held in Custody
Mr. Liu Zhongrong talked to a taxi driver about Falun Gong on July 8, 2020. The driver drove him directly to the Jianshe Street Police Station.
Mr. Liu was released on bail two days later. He was again taken into custody by officers from the police station in mid-August. Two weeks later he was taken to the Ren’ai Hospital.
19. [Ningbo City, Zhejiang Province] Three Practitioners Harassed
Ms. Rong Yaqin, Ms. Rong Yaping, and Ms. Shen Xiaohui were recently harassed by people from the neighborhood committee and police. They were told to write the three statements. If they did not renounce Falun Gong, they would be sent to a brainwashing center for forced transformation. It was reported that a brainwashing session would be held on September 30.
20. [Tonghua City, Jilin Province] Ms. Xing Deqin Officially Arrested
Mr. Du Guolin, Ms. Li Junlan, and Ms. Xing Deqin were held in custody for 37 days, as of September 4, 2020. That day, Mr. Du and Ms. Li were released on bail, but Ms. Xing was officially arrested.
21. [Chongqing] Ms. Wang Xiuying Harassed
Ms. Wang Xiuying’s son was phoned by Shanshuilidu Residential Community personnel in Jiangbei District. He was told to tell his mother to go to the community office, bring a release certificate from prison, and sign paperwork on the morning of August 5, 2020.
Ms. Wang was sentenced to one year and nine months in prison on July 13, 2016, and the authorities wanted to deduct over 40,000 yuan from her pension received during that period.
22. [Lanzhou City, Gansu Province] Ms. Cui Chengxiang Arrested
Ms. Cui Chengxiang from Anning District was arrested at home by officers from the High-tech Development Zone Police Station and the Anning District Domestic Security Division, and personnel from the Kongjiaya Sub-district Administration Office and the Kongjiaya Residential Community on the morning of September 3, 2020. Her home was ransacked. She is being held in the police station.
About 15 people from these four organizations went to Ms. Cui’s son’s home and ransacked the place on the evening of September 3. A large number of belongings plus cash were confiscated from her and her son’s homes.
23. [Lanzhou City, Gansu Province] Ms. Zhao Ting Harassed
Wang Wei and other officers from the Liujiapu Sub-district Police Station in Anning District went to Ms. Zhao Ting’s home in the family quarters of the Academy of Agricultural Sciences at around 10:00 a.m. on September 4, 2020.
They attempted to “transform” her and demanded she sign paperwork, but she refused. They then threatened her. Ms. Zhao’s mother was over 80 years old, and suffering from heart disease among many other illnesses. She was terrified and fell ill. As a result, the two officers immediately left the scene.
24. [Pengzhou City, Sichuan Province] Four Practitioners Harassed
Yang Xianjun, head of Wanhuang Village in Longfeng Town, and other people went to homes of Ms. Liu Taijun, Ms. Liu Yu, Ms. Xie Zhangyun, and Ms. Song Yuanhui and took photos of them on August 19, 2020.
Yan Minghong, Party secretary of Longfeng Town, Yang, and two other people went to harrass Ms. Xie and Ms. Liu Yu on August 20.
Officers led by Liu Guanghua from Longfeng Town and actively engaged in the persecution went to the four practitioners’ homes and harassed them on August 21. They slandered Dafa and took personal belongings from their homes.
25. [Anyang City, Henan Province] Four Practitioners Held in Detention Center
Ms. Zhang Yanping, 68, was followed and arrested at her workplace by officers from the Doufuying Police Station on the afternoon of August 27, 2020. Her home was ransacked. Mr. Zhang Jianjun, 50, was also arrested at the workplace.
Ms. Weng Qiuxiang, about 60, was arrested at home on the evening of August 27. Her home was ransacked. Another female practitioner was also arrested.
The four practitioners are being held in the Anyang City Detention Center.
26. [Yiyang City, Hunan Province] Ms. Luo Xuehong Arrested
Ms. Luo Xuehong, a teacher at the Yuanjiang City No. 3 Middle School, from Huangmaozhou Town, Yuanjiang City, was arrested at home by officers from the Huangmaozhou Police Station on September 1, 2020.
The officers confiscated two printers and paper currency bills with Falun Gong information printed on them. Ms. Luo is being held in the Yuanjiang City Domestic Security Division. She was secretly interrogated.
27. [Shaodong City, Hunan Province] Mr. Zeng Zhiyuan’s Original Verdict Upheld
Mr. Zeng Zhiyuan’s original verdict was upheld by the Shaoyang City Intermediate Court.
