(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 20 cities or counties in ten provinces, where at least 41 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

1. [Qingdao City, Shandong Province] Ms. Zhao Renxia Facing Trial
The Huangdao District Court scheduled a trial for Ms. Zhao Renxia via video-link at the Pudong District Detention Center on July 16, 2020. They told her lawyer to go to the detention center to attend the trial, and also allowed her family members to attend.
2. [Leiyang City, Hunan Province] Mr. Zi Daoliang and Ms. Li Huizhen Detained
Mr. Zi Daoliang and Ms. Li Huizhen were arrested by officers from the Liaotian Town Police Station in Hengnan County on July 8, 2020. Both practitioners are being held in the Hengyang City Police Department’s Supervision Center.
Mr. Zi is being detained for five days, and Ms. Li is being detained for ten days.
3. [Yingkou City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Sun Xiuzhen Taken to Detention Center
Ms. Sun Xiuzhen, 77, was arrested by officers from the Shuangtaizi Police Station in Gaizhou City on the morning of July 6, 2020, for talking to people about Falun Gong. She was taken to the Gaizhou Detention Center.
Officers from the Gaizhou Domestic Security Division ransacked her home and confiscated over 100 copies of Minghui Weekly
4. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Tan Shuyun and Ms. Zhao Guiqin Arrested and Released
Ms. Tan Shuyun, 75, and Ms. Zhao Guiqin from the Jinzhou District were arrested by officers from the Development Zone's Harbinlu Police Station on June 16, 2020, for talking to people about Falun Gong. Ms. Tan was released later that day. Ms. Zhao was released the following day.
Officers from the Guangming Police Station and Hongqi Residential Community personnel broke into Ms. Tan’s home, ransacked it, and confiscated a Falun Dafa book on June 17. They tried to force her to sign the interrogation record and “three statements”. Ms. Tan refused.
Two officers from the Harbinlu Police Station returned to Ms. Tan’s home on June 18. They told her to sign a stack of written materials they had brought with them, but she refused.
5. [Zhanjiang City, Guangdong Province] Ms. He Wenxiang Officially Arrested
Ms. He Wenxiang was arrested on June 3, 2020. She was officially placed under arrest, and is being held in the Nanhai Detention Center, Foshan City.
6. [Beijing] Ms. Zhao Caiping Arrested and Released
Ms. Zhao Caiping, in her 70s, from the Xicheng District was arrested by plainclothes officers from the Baizhifang Police Station on the morning of May 11, 2020. They confiscated over 20 Falun Dafa books, a computer, and four radios. She was taken to the police station, where she was forced to undergo a physical examination. Her blood pressure was very high.
Ms. Zhao was interrogated that evening, and later transferred to the Xicheng Police Department, where she was interrogated again twice.
The police contacted her family at 4:00 a.m. the following morning and told them to take her home.
7. [Chongqing] Ms. Zhang Xiaoqin and Mr. Liu Hanchi Missing
Ms. Zhang Xiaoqin and Mr. Liu Hanchi from the Fuling District has been missing since July 2, 2020.
8. [Qingyang City, Gansu Province] Mr. Liu Shiyi and His Wife Held in Detention Center
Mr. Liu Shiyi and his wife from Fucheng Township in Qingcheng County were arrested at home by officers from the Qingcheng Police Department on March 24, 2020. Their home was ransacked, and a computer, printer, and Falun Dafa books were confiscated.
Mr. Liu is being held in the Qingcheng Detention Center, and his wife is being held in the Ning County Detention Center.
9. [Tonghua City, Jilin Province] Ms. Cao Shulian Held in Detention Center
Ms. Cao Shulian, 58, was videotaped by urban management personnel when she was distributing Falun Gong materials on July 2, 2020. She was arrested by officers from the Laozhan Police Station. Her home was ransacked, and photos of the founder of Falun Gong, Falun Dafa books, a computer, cell phone, and 3,600 yuan in cash were confiscated.
The officers later called her family to the police station and forced them to pay 1,600 yuan for “disrupting social order.”
Ms. Cao is being held in the Tonghua City Detention Center.
10. [Dezhou City, Shandong Province] Three Practitioners Arrested
Ms. Lu Jinying from Lusanli Village in the Chiping District was arrested at home by officer Zhang Yuanping and others from the Qihe County Domestic Security Division and officers from the Zhenxing Police Station on the morning of July 6, 2020. Her home was ransacked, and a large number of personal belongings, worth at least 50,000 yuan, were confiscated. The officers did not present any legal paperwork, nor did they provide the family a list of items they took.
Mr. Wang Yusheng from Chiping was arrested at his watch shop by four police officers on July 6. He was pushed into a van on the side of the road.
Mr. Li Chengmin was arrested by officers from the Chiping County Domestic Security Division led by officers Zhang Yuanping and Chen Hao, from the Qihe Domestic Security Division, on July 8.
11. [Zhengzhou City, Henan Province] Ms. Jing Xiuqin Taken to Detention Center
Ms. Jing Xiuqin from Xingyang City was arrested by officers from the Jingcheng Police Station on June 24, 2020. Her home was ransacked. She was physically abused in the police station when the officers tried to extract information from her. She was taken to the Gongyi Detention Center the next day.
12. [Baoqing County, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Zang Wenliang and Ms. Yin Feng Harassed
Wang Lihua, head of Wanjinshan Township; Ma Defu, village Party secretary; Zhao Shengyu and other officers from the police station went to Mr. Zang Wenliang’s home and ransacked it in mid-June 2020. They confiscated photos of the founder of Falun Gong, Falun Dafa books and paintings from the wall.
They then went to Ms. Yin Feng’s home and tore the Falun Gong New Year picture off the wall, and took it away.
13. [Zhaoyuan City, Shandong Province] Ms. Li Yuanyu Arrested
Ms. Li Yuanyu from Xiadian Town was spotted by plainclothes officer Yang Zhengqing on the morning of May 22, 2020, for talking to people about Falun Gong. The officer reported her to Sun Hualong, an agent of the Xiadian 610 Office. Sun arrested Ms. Li and confiscated her Falun Gong materials.
Ms. Li was forced to sign and put her fingerprint on the detention warrant. Officers forcibly took blood samples and pictures of her. She was given a 15-day detention to be served at home.
14. [Xuchang City, Henan Province] Mr. Liao Jianjun Arrested
Officers from the Jian’an District Domestic Security Division and the Suqiao Town Police Station recently harassed practitioners, claiming they were conducting a residential household information census.
Mr. Liao Jianjun was arrested, and taken to the Xuchang City Central Hospital for a physical exam. He was handcuffed at the police station, yet still managed to escape. The police went to his residential community to inquire about his whereabouts.
15. [Pengzhou City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Zhong Jifang and Ms. Zhong Jiju Harassed
Ms. Zhong Jifang from Qingliang Village, Sanjie Town, was called to the village committee on June 2, 2020. Mao, Party secretary of the Pengzhou City Political and Legal Affairs Committee, and Qian Chengtian, from the Mengyang Town 610 Office, went to her home on June 23 and tried to get her to renounce her belief. They also harassed her on the phone several times.
Officers Hu Shunqi and Qian Zhengtian, from the Mengyang Town Police Station, went to Ms. Zhong Jiju’s home in Gaoshou Village in Sanjie and harassed her on the afternoon of July 3. They started taking photos before they entered her home and asked her if she still practiced Falun Gong.
16. [Chongqing] Mr. Zhou Hin Held in Detention Center
Mr. Chen Jiachuan's wife Ms. Zhou from the Hechuan District was arrested at home on July 6, 2020. She is being held in the Hechuan Detention Center for ten days.
17. [Tai’an City, Shandong Province] Five Practitioners Arrested, Four of Them Released
Ms. Zheng Hongling, 56, Ms. Zhu Rongping, 60, Ms. Gong Qingwei, 54, Mr. Yin Zhaoxiang, 66, and his wife Ms. Wang Peijuan, 63, were arrested by twelve plainclothes officers from the Taishanzhan Police Station at around 10:00 p.m. on July 8, 2020. The officers confiscated their Falun Dafa books, printed materials, cell phones, and audio players. Ms. Zheng’s computer was also confiscated. The five practitioners were interrogated at the police station that evening.
Ms. Zhu was released on bail for health reasons, and was forced to pay 3,000 yuan. Ms. Zheng and Ms. Wang were each forced to pay 3,000 yuan before being released on bail. Mr. Yin was also released. Ms. Gong was taken to the Railway Bureau Public Security Division.
18. [Shijiazhuang City, Hebei Province] Mr. Qian Yuzhong Held in Detention Center
Mr. Qian Yuzhong from Xingtang County was reported to the police by a residential community guard on the morning of July 9, 2020, for distributing Falun Gong materials. He is being held in the Xingtang Detention Center.
19. [Lu County, Sichuan Province] Four Practitioners Facing Trial
Ms. Deng Wanying, Ms. Luo Taihui, Ms. Lei Huanying, and Ms. Gou Zhengqun, have been held in custody for nearly a year. They are due to be tried by the Lu County Court on July 13, 2020. Two defense lawyers will be representing them in the court.
20. [Jiujiang City, Jiangxi Province] Ms. Huang Zhibin and Mr. Luo Yungui Arrested
Ms. Huang Zhibin and Mr. Luo Yungui were arrested by SWAT Team officers on July 11, 2020, when they were shopping in a supermarket. The officers did not show any ID.
21. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Ren Haifei in Critical Condition
Mr. Ren Haifei was arrested at his apartment by officers from the Ganjingzi Police Department and the Ganjingzi Street Police Station on June 26, 2020, and is being held in the Yaojia Detention Center.
He has been on a hunger strike since his arrest and recently suffered heart and kidney failure. He was taken to the hospital for emergency treatment. Officers from the Ganjingzi Street Police Station stayed in the hospital to monitor him.
22. [Beijing] Ms. Yue Xiuhua's Case Passed to Procuratorate, Ms. Zhao Fengjun Harassed Numerous Times
Ms. Yue Xiuhua from the Pinggu District was arrested on the evening of July 6, 2020. She was taken to the Yuyang Police Station, and later transferred to the Pinggu Detention Center but was released due to the coronavirus pandemic. As conditions eased with the virus, Ms. Yue was taken into criminal detention. Her case was turned over to the No. 3 Branch of the Beijing Procuratorate.
Ms. Zhao Fengjun was told to go to the Yuyang Police Station on July 14. She has been harassed many times recently.
23. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Ms. Qian Youyun and Ms. Sun Zuying Facing Trial
Ms. Qian Youyun and Ms. Sun Zuying are due to be tried by the Hongshan District Court on the afternoon of July 21, 2020.
When their family members inquired about attending the trial the court used the pandemic as an excuse to prevent their families from attending.
