Maturing in Cultivation
(Minghui.org) The Chinese Communist Party (CCP) launched the persecution of Falun Dafa (aka Falun Gong) two years after I took up the practice.
Despite the escalating horror experienced by Falun Gong practitioners at that time, nothing could cause my belief in Dafa to waiver, as it was deeply rooted in my heart. Hearing the devastating news that practitioners were being arrested and tortured, I decided to go to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong in late 2000. This was the first time I was illegally detained and sent to a brainwashing center.
I knew that I had to walk well on my cultivation path, although I didn’t have a clear idea how. Except for working and taking care of the household chores, I used whatever time I had to study the Fa.
Only a small amount of truth-clarification materials were produced locally back then, with most of the materials being supplied to us by practitioners from another town.
I wanted to start a materials production site at home. Although I was computer illiterate, I didn't believe that it would be too difficult to learn how to use a computer and printer. So with help from another practitioner, who assisted with technical issues, we set up a materials production site at my home.
The first time I looked at the Minghui website I had tears in my eyes when I saw Master’s picture on the front page, and I felt very proud when I was able to send greeting cards to Master on behalf of local practitioners.
Our materials production site has been running successfully for the past 14 years.
Whenever we experienced problems with the printer we had to take it to a practitioner in another city to get it repaired. The practitioner there was very busy and asked if we could get a local practitioner to learn how to do it. No one seemed willing, however.
The next time I went to get the printer repaired, I watched how Mr. Li did it.
Another printer stopped working after I returned home. It seemed to be the same problem as the last printer I had repaired. I wasn’t sure if I could fix it, but Ms. Hao encouraged me, “Why don’t you give it a try? If it doesn’t work, we can still take it to the city.”
I remembered how Mr. Li took the machine apart, so I did the same and then made the same repair he had.
After I finished, I put all the parts back in their right places and closed the cover--the printer worked perfectly. This experience encouraged me greatly. I knew that Master was helping me.
I started doing more repairs when needed and could solve a lot of the issues myself without troubling others.
Practitioners from other areas sometimes called me when they had problems with their printers.
I made sure that I studied the Fa and sent forth righteous thoughts before I went to the practitioner's home. I held righteous thoughts, and spoke to the machine, “You are a practitioner's Fa weapon. Since you are encountering interference and have trouble eliminating it, I am here to help you. We should work together to save sentient beings and accomplish our mission.”
I had the practitioner watch me when I repaired the machines. I explained what I was doing, where other problems might occur, and how to fix them.
I have been going to practitioners’ homes in a few neighboring counties to help them for three years now.
Everything Works Well When I Cultivate Well
As more materials production sites sprang up in practitioners' homes, I found myself very busy helping them get started and repairing their machinery. Yet I still managed to find time to study the Fa, which is the most important thing for everything to work well.
We later purchased additional equipment so that we could produce the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party, and the Ultimate Goal of Communism.
A practitioner printed the Nine Commentaries and then brought them to my site. Between us, we made 500 copies of the booklet. We worked long and hard during the hot summer months and weren't able to open the windows for security reasons. It was stifling in the room with the additional heat produced by the printers, but we couldn't stop production. Our efforts were rewarded when we saw people eager for the finished product, longing to learn the truth.
Our practitioners shoulder great responsibilities in saving sentient beings, so I never dare to slack off in my cultivation. No matter what I do, I make studying the Fa my first priority, as it is the basis for doing the three things well.
Improving Xinxing Helps Solve Problems
When I go out to fix practitioners' machines, I ask myself whether I am validating myself or cultivating myself.
Ms. Lin regularly had problems with paper jams in her printer. After I fixed the problem, it happened again. She blamed me every time, saying that I was causing delays in her work. Her attitude made me feel unbalanced in my heart. Apart from the technical problem, deep down I knew I had a xinxing issue.
I looked inward and realized that I liked to hear praise.
“Listening, but caring not to hear—A mind so hard to disturb.”(“Abiding in the Dao,” Hong Yin)
I strengthened my righteous thoughts when I found my problem: I am here to cultivate, and should not be moved by anything.
I went to talk to Ms. Lin later that day. I told her about the attachments I found in myself, and she opened up her heart as well.
From my experience in learning how to repair machinery, I truly came to appreciate my sacred mission and responsibilities. All my abilities came from the Fa. Therefore, as long as practitioners needed me, I would do my very best to cooperate with them by letting go of my own ego.
I went to the city one time to repair some printers. In passing, I said to the practitioner there, “I want to learn how to install the operating system, and I'm wanting to buy two laptop computers.”
“You found the right person,” she said cheerfully. “Let me take you to see someone.”
We went to a practitioner’s home, who happened to have two laptops she no longer needed. She felt that Master had arranged everything for us. She also taught me how to install the operating system.
I have learned so many new things on my cultivation path and taken on new roles to assist with Dafa projects and support other practitioners, all under Master’s benevolent protection.
I could easily get agitated when I came across problems, however, especially when I would try to plan things with human thinking.
“Let me tell you that they are not at all important, and it is an attachment if you think too much about them. Aren’t you attached to a pursuit if you think too much about it? Cultivation depends on one’s own efforts, while the transformation of gong is done by one’s master. It is good enough if you have this wish. It is the master who actually does this, as you are simply unable to do it.” (Lecture One, Zhuan Falun)
After I managed to eliminate my attachment to planning things in a very detailed way and my attachment to time, I was able to see that Master had made the perfect arrangements for me, and I could truly feel that my level was being elevated.
I was asked if I could repair three printers in the spring of 2015. They were quite expensive ones. My attachment to resentment flared up, and I began complaining about others for not taking care of the equipment.
After I calmed down, I asked myself why I felt like this.
“When he cannot cure an illness, he drops his head and feels fizzled out. Isn’t it caused by his attachment to fame and personal gain? ” (Lecture Two, Zhuan Falun)
I know they did not break the machines intentionally, so I should let go of my attachments and do the things I was supposed to do.
With righteous thoughts, I went to the practitioner's home to fix the printers. I encountered a few problems where the machines were not working properly, but I wasn't moved and just kept sending righteous thoughts. Three hours later, the machine printed very good test pages. I was very excited and began to think that I could use the same method to treat the other printers tomorrow. However, I quickly negated this thought, as I realized that it was not a technical issue but rather an issue of cultivation.
Loss of Life
A practitioner who helped with technical issues passed away in Fall 2017. Mr. Liang, who was responsible for purchasing cartridges, also passed away. I quietly took over their responsibilities.
On my way back from a materials production site one time, I suddenly felt a heavy weight on my shoulders and had tears in my eyes. I said to Master, “Master, I am feeling helpless, and struggling to cope.”
I had a good cry after returning home. My husband was afraid that I couldn’t endure all of this, and said, “These are all tests for you.” I knew that it was Master using him to give me a hint.
“Cultivation depends on one’s own efforts, while the transformation of gong is done by one’s master. It is good enough if you have this wish.” (Lecture One, Zhuan Falun)
Soon enough, more people came to me saying that they now had more time on their hands and were offering to help.
I have experienced so much on my cultivation path over the last 20 years. I know that I couldn’t have made it without Master’s painstaking efforts. Master has given me the wisdom to do all of the things that I have learned and accomplished to help save sentient beings.
Thank you, Master! Thank you!
