Practitioners in the San Francisco Bay Area Celebrate World Falun Dafa Day
(Minghui.org) Falun Dafa practitioners in the San Francisco Bay Area celebrated World Falun Dafa Day on May 9, 2020, with events in San Jose and Fremont. This year’s celebration marked the 28th anniversary of Falun Dafa’s public introduction and its founder Mr. Li Hongzhi’s 69th birthday.
Practitioners from the East and South Bay gathered in local parks to say, “Happy Birthday, Master!” “Falun Dafa is great!” and “Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is great!”
Ms. Yang Li said, “Falun Dafa uplifted my spirit. Master taught me to consider others before myself and to let go of my attachments to fame and gain. He showed me how to be a good person. After getting rid of my attachments, my life became much easier.”
Ms. Yang had late-stage stomach cancer, which turned into nasopharyngeal carcinoma. Her doctor said she had only three months to live. After she began practicing Falun Dafa in 1995, all her illnesses disappeared. “Master gave me a new life, so I’m very thankful,” she said.
Ms. Wu Yun said that Falun Dafa gave her life meaning, improved her health, and gave her a happy family. “Master guided me through various trials in the past 20 years of my cultivation. I’m so happy to take this opportunity to express my gratitude to Master!”
Mr. Huang Changyu felt energetic after he did the exercises with the group. He said, “I learned how to follow Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance to look inward for my own problems when facing conflicts and difficulties. Dafa guides me through today’s society and helps me avoid getting caught up in its degenerate morality. Thank you, Master!
Thirteen-year-old Chen Tianxing said that practicing Falun Dafa improved his health and personality and helped him become a better student. He actively participates in activities to tell more people about Dafa and helps promote Shen Yun Performing Arts. One of his teachers watched a Shen Yun show on his recommendation and said he greatly enjoyed the traditional Chinese culture it presented.
