Additional Persecution News from China – April 19, 2020 (12 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 12 cities or counties in 11 provinces, where at least 33 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

1. [Yongkang City, Zhejiang Province] Ms. Shi Mengqiao Officially Arrested

Ms. Shi Mengqiao was arrested by officers from the Xiangzhu Town Police Station on February 12, 2020. She has now been officially placed under arrest.

2. [Guanghan City, Sichuan Province] Several Practitioners Arrested

Several practitioners from Taiping Town were arrested by the SWAT Team at Ms. Zhang Dacui’s home on April 17, 2020, when they were studying the Falun Gong teachings together. Ms. Zhang’s home was ransacked.

3. [Kunming City, Yunnan Province] Ms. Zhu Arrested

Ms. Zhu was arrested by officers from the Daguan Police Station on the afternoon of April 16, 2020, for distributing Falun Gong materials.

4. [Nanyang City, Henan Province] Nineteen Practitioners Detained

The Nanyang Police Department have carried out a coordinated campaign to persecute over 160 practitioners in Nanyang City since August 30, 2019. Nineteen practitioners are still being held in the Nanyang Detention Center.

They are: Mr. Zhao Peiyuan, Mr. Wang Wei, Ms. Liu Tianyu, Mr. Sun Tongren, Ms. Lai Guimin, Mr. Yang Fengdong, Mr. Pan Dongxing, Ms. Wang Xiaobi, Ms. Liang Zhaofang, Mr. Wen Jianhua, Mr. Tan Bo, Ms. Li Jierong, Ms. Li Xiaoling, Mr. Wang Zhiqing, Mr. Dong Ju’an, Ms. Wang Yinglin, Ms. Wang Qin, Ms. Wang Lianfeng, and Ms. Wang Jingrui.

Several practitioners’ cases were turned over to the Wancheng District Court on April 15, 2020. They are due to be tried in early May.

5. [Dandong City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Zhang Xiufen Detained

Ms. Zhang Xiufen from Majiadian Town in Donggang City was arrested at the Beijingzi Town Farmers' Market on the morning of April 1, 2020, for talking to a plainclothes officer about Falun Gong. She was detained for 15 days.

6. [Shanghai] Mr. Zhang Shuqiang Detained

Ms. Zhang Shuqiang from the Pudong New Area was arrested by officers from the Pudong Police Department and the Shanggang New Village Police Station on April 16, 2020. She was taken to the Pudong Detention Center.

7. [Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province] Ms. Zheng Yingying and Ms. Zheng Yingzhuang Detained

Ms. Zheng Yingying, 69, and her sister Ms. Zheng Yingzhuang, 67, were reported to the police on April 1, 2020, for talking to people about Falun Gong in the Jinshazhou area of the Baiyun District. They were arrested, and 2,500 yuan in paper bills with Falun Gong information printed on them were confiscated. Their homes were also ransacked.

The sisters were taken to the Guangzhou City No. 2 Detention Center.

8. [Liupanshui City, Guizhou Province] Ms. Xie Xianqiong Detained

Ms. Xie Xianqiong from the Flower and Bird Market, Minghu Village in the Zhongshan District was arrested by the Zhongshan District police on March 26, 2020, for distributing Falun Gong materials. Her home was ransacked.

Ms. Xie was detained for 12 days.

9. [Changzhou City, Jiangsu Province] Ms. Bu Rumei Arrested

Ms. Bu Rumei from Henglin Town in the Wujin District was followed and arrested on April 16, 2020, for talking to people about Falun Gong. Her home was ransacked. She was later released on bail.

10. [Huailai County, Hebei Province] Ms. Xu Xiuying Arrested

Ms. Xu Xiuying was reported to the police on January 17, 2020, for distributing informational materials about Falun Gong in front of the Donghuayuan Police Station. She was arrested, and her home ransacked.

11. [Huaihua City, Henan Province] Ms. Wu Fangming and Ms. Yang Linying Detained

Ms. Wu Fangming and Ms. Yang Linying from the Hecheng District were arrested at their rented home by officers from the Tuanjie Police Station on September 29, 2019. They were taken to the Huaihua City Detention Center.

Ms. Wu’s case was turned over to the Zhijiang County Procuratorate on April 15, 2020.

12. [Chongzuo City, Guangxi Province] Ms. Nong Huilan and Ms. Nong Huiyang Detained

Ms. Nong Huilan and Ms. Nong Huiyang from Taocheng Town, Daxin County, were arrested on March 6, 2020. They were held in the Daxin Detention Center for ten days.
