(Minghui.org) Ping used to be a Chinese Communist Party (CCP) leader in a village. He was generous and kind so he was popular. In March 2000 he was made the acting director where I worked. I used to be one of the leaders in my workplace, but after the persecution of Falun Gong (also known as Falun Dafa) started in July 1999, I was removed from the lead position because I would not give up practicing Falun Dafa.
This was my situation when he assumed his position. I worked very diligently and did everything he asked me to do. But for some reason he was always angry with me and treated me poorly. He wouldn’t listen to me when I tried to clarify the truth about Dafa to him and told me that I was against the CCP.
Once when I was walking back to work, I ran into him. He began to curse at me for no reason. It was on the street and a lot of people were watching. He said that he would kick me out of my job and kick me out of town. I didn’t argue with him, just smiled and went back to work.
In January 2001, I was arrested for hanging Dafa banners and detained for over seven months. I was fired from my job after I was released. I had to find a way to make a living to support my two children in college and my parents. So my wife and I ended up going to another province to find work. Ping then claimed that he had driven me out of my job and out of town, even though it was the CCP that was responsible.
Eight years passed and I returned home in late 2009. One day I ran into Ping in a small supermarket so we chatted about our situations.
“Not long after you left,” he said, “I also left that company. I’m not the village CCP leader anymore, either. Nowadays, I just do part-time work.”
I told him about myself and then told him about quitting the CCP and its youth associations to have a better future. I told him why it was important and gave him a booklet and a DVD of the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party. I said, “Take a look at these. If you are willing to quit, let’s meet here again tomorrow at this time.”
The next day Ping indeed came. He was very excited and said, “I wish I had seen these earlier! I knew the CCP was evil but I didn’t know that it was this bad! The Nine Commentaries really laid it all out. Please help me quit the CCP.” When I asked him what name he wanted to use, he said, “You know my name. I’ll use my real name.”
I was very touched when he said that. He had completely changed due to Master’s compassionate arrangement. I gave him two more booklets, two DVDs, and a beautiful Dafa keepsake.
“Keep this reminder with you at all times,” I said. “In emergencies, just recite ‘Falun Dafa is good! Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good!’ Then you will be fine! You should also pass along this information to your family and friends once you have read them. That way, they’ll know about this, too.” He totally agreed.
Another year or two passed before we ran into each other again. He grabbed my arm and said, “I really need to thank you. I was almost killed!” I asked him what had happened. He said, “It’s scary to even think about it. After we saw each other last time, I accepted a job as a supervisor at a construction company.
“I was outside when all of a sudden I felt I was being pushed down by an enormous force, and then I saw a huge thing pressing against me. I knew it was bad and I remembered what you told me, so I yelled ‘Falun Dafa is good! Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good!’ Then it felt as if a big hand picked me up and gently put me on the sidewalk about 10 yards away. I saw that it was a large excavator that had almost crushed me. I truly need to thank you!”
I told him, “It was the Master of Falun Dafa who saved you. You should be thankful to him. Master Li told his practitioners to tell people about these sentences, and you chose to believe in Dafa and were thus saved.”
“I still need to thank you, too,” he said. “It was you who told me about it. Here is 200 yuan to get something good to eat.” He took out the money to put in my pocket. I told him I would not take his money, that as a Dafa practitioner I was just doing my duty to clarify the facts. “If you don’t want money, then what can I do for you?” “You can just tell people about your miraculous experience. That would be great for you, too.”
“That I can do for sure,” he said. “But I still think there is something I can do.” He thought about it and said, “Can you give me some more booklets and DVDs? I can give them to people I know and tell them to quit the CCP.” I said, “Of course, but please be careful.” I had a dozen booklets and DVDs at the time and I gave all of them to him. He wanted more, so I told him that I would get him more once he used those up. He was very pleased and left.
His experience really touched me. He’d changed from not wanting to hear the truth about the persecution to wanting to quit the CCP, from being opposed to Dafa to being totally grateful, and from being buried in the CCP’s lies to wanting to help others quit the CCP. To have undergone such a complete change, he must have thought long and hard to distinguish good from evil—and finally choose the right future. He made it!
From what happened to Ping, I saw Master’s great compassion and Dafa’s extraordinary power. I saw the effects of Dafa practitioners’ distributing materials and clarifying the facts. I also saw that people can and do awaken! Especially today, with the coronavirus, I truly hope that all the Chinese people can find out the truth and when in despair, they sincerely recite “Falun Dafa is good! Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good!” They will then see there is hope and have a bright future!
