Additional Persecution News from China – March 12, 2020 (11 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 11 cities or counties in 5provinces, where at least 18 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

1. [Ningbo City, Zhejiang Province] Ms. Liu Mingping Sentenced to Prison; Ms. Ying Guofang and Ms. Qin Lianyu Detained

1. [Ningbo City, Zhejiang Province] Ms. Liu Mingping Sentenced to Prison; Ms. Ying Guofang and Ms. Qin Lianyu Detained

Ms. Liu Mingping was arrested on April 18, 2019, and is being held in the Ningbo City Detention Center. She was sentenced to a three-and-a-half-year prison term. 

Ms. Ying Guofang and Ms. Qin Lianyu, are being held in the same detention center.

2. [Jinan City, Shandong Province] Ms. Zhang Zhonglan Under House Arrest

Ms. Zhang Zhonglan, 78, was arrested on the morning of February 29, 2020, for posting informational materials about Falun Gong. She was interrogated in the Zhonggong Police Station. Officers ransacked her home, and confiscated her personal belongings that afternoon. Ms. Zhang was taken home for 15 days of house arrest. Her family was forced to pay 500 yuan.

3. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Three Practitioners Arrested

A practitioner surnamed Guo from the Pulandian District was arrested at home in mid-February 2020. Police ransacked the place, and confiscated a computer and other personal belongings. The practitioner's son paid bail, so Guo was released.

Ms. Lei Huixin and Ms. Wu Yueju from Pulandian were arrested by officer Zhang Yandong and two others from the Nanshan Police Station on March 10. They ransacked Ms. Lei's home, and confiscated her personal belongings. Ms. Lei and Ms. Wu are now under house arrest.

4. [Beijing] Ms. Zhao Shuying and Ms. Zhang Maolan Arrested

Ms. Zhao Shuying was arrested by officers from the Tongtianyuan Police Station on the afternoon of March 6, 2020, for distributing Falun Gong fliers in the Changping District. Police ransacked her apartment, and confiscated her iPad, cell phone, identity card, keys, and other personal belongings. She was taken to the Changping Detention Center for interrogation in the early hours of March 7. Ms. Zhao was transferred to another police station the following evening, and was released after her apartment owner paid her bail.

Ms. Zhang Maolan, in her 70s, was arrested on March 6, and taken to a police station. Her home was ransacked, and her personal belongings were confiscated. She was taken to the Changping Detention Center and was later released.

5. [Shouguang City, Shandong Province] Ms. Yuan Jinhua Arrested

Ms. Yuan Jinhua was arrested on the morning of March 10, 2020, for talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong. Her whereabouts are unknown.

6. [Hohhot City, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region] Mr. Chen Furong and His Wife Ms. Liang Fengying Arrested

Mr. Chen Furong and his wife Ms. Liang Fengying were arrested by officers from the Huimin District Police Department and Domestic Security Division on the evening of March 9, 2020.

7. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Wang Qiuping and Ms. Qu Lianxiang Arrested

Ms. Wang Qiuping was arrested on February 27, 2020, by officers from the Heping District Police Station. She was taken to the Heping Mental Hospital. The last time she was arrested, she managed to escape from the police station.

Ms. Qu Lianxiang was arrested on March 11, after being reported to the authorities for talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong. She was taken to the Hunhewan Police Station, Heping District Police Department 

8. [Suizhong County, Liaoning Province] Ms. Wang Guifen Arrested

Ms. Wang Guifen was arrested by officer Wang Baomin and others from the Domestic Security Division on the afternoon of February 17, 2020. She was released on bail that evening.

9. [Longde County, Ningxia Autonomous Region] Ms. Chen Shuqin Arrested

Ms. Chen Shuqin was arrested by two officers from the Chengguan Police Station on the afternoon of March 7, 2020, after she was reported for distributing Falun Gong fliers. The police ransacked her home and office, and confiscated Falun Gong books, computers, and other personal belongings. Ms. Chen was taken to the Longde Domestic Security Division.

10. [Yunnan Province] Ms. Yin Lingyu Detained

Ms. Yin Lingyu was arrested at home on February 16, 2020. She is being held in the Chuxiong Prefecture Detention Center.

11. [Yinchuan City, Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region] Ms. Zhao Lin Arrested

Ms. Zhao Lin was arrested by officers from the Jiefangxijie Police Station on March 7, 2020, after she was reported for talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong. Police ransacked her home.

She was released in the early hours of March 8. The police had her son come to the police station that morning to pay her bail.
