(Minghui.org) A Shanghai resident is facing further persecution for his faith in Falun Gong.
Falun Gong, also known as Falun Dafa, is a spiritual and meditation discipline based on the principles of Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance. It has been persecuted by the Chinese communist regime since 1999.
Mr. Tian Hui took up Falun Gong after witnessing his mother’s miraculous recovery from a stroke by reciting “Falun Dafa is good; Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance is good.”
Mr. Tian credits Falun Gong for improving his character and enabling him to be more giving. His wife used to work out of town, and he took care of their child and his parents all by himself. When a friend with no family around was dying, he stepped in to be his caregiver in his final days.
For telling people how practicing Falun Gong has transformed him, however, Mr. Tian was arrested on February 4, 2020. His arrest was approved on March 6. He is currently held at Yangpu District Detention Center.
His mother was so traumatized by his arrest that she fell from bed and is now incapacitated. His family is calling on the police to immediately release Mr. Tian.
