Additional Persecution News from China – March 5, 2020 (5 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 5 cities or counties in 3 provinces, where at least 11 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

1. [Anyang City, Henan Province] Four Practitioners Arrested

Mr. Cui Duandi, Ms. Wu Bao’e, Ms. Lu Baolan, and another practitioner from Haojing Village, Duli Township, Anyang County, were photographed and reported to the police on February 19, 2020, for distributing Falun Gong materials in villages within the county.

They were arrested by personnel from the Anyang City Discipline Inspection Commission and officers from the Duli Police Station. The officers ransacked their homes, and confiscated Falun Dafa books.

2. [Beijing] Three Practitioners Arrested

Mr. Hao Xiufeng was followed and arrested at home by plainclothes officers on the afternoon of February 26, 2020. His residence was ransacked, and his Falun Dafa books, Falun Gong informational desktop calendars, and Chinese New Year paintings were confiscated. Mr. Hao was placed under criminal detention and taken to the Yanqing Detention Center.

Ms. Zhang Fang and her husband Mr. Chen Fengzhang from the Xinyuanli Area, Chaoyang District, were reported to the police for talking to people about Falun Gong. They were arrested on March 5 and taken to the Xinyuanli Police Station.

Mr. Wang Youbin from the Changping District was arrested. His whereabouts are unknown.

3. [Weihai City, Shandong Province] Ms. Zou Huaxiang Arrested

Ms. Zou Huaxiang was reported to the police on the afternoon of February 25, 2020, for talking to people about Falun Gong. She was arrested by officers from Huangguan Police Station. They forcibly took her fingerprints and blood samples before releasing her.

Several officers from the Weihai Economic and Technological Development Zone Domestic Security Division ransacked Ms. Zou’s home on the morning of February 26. They confiscated Falun Gong books and photos of the founder of Falun Gong.

4. [Liaoyuan City, Jilin Province] Ms. Shang Shuqin Arrested

Ms. Shang Shuqin was arrested by officers from the Dongji Police Station on February 29, 2020, for distributing Falun Gong materials. She was released on bail that evening.

5. [Shanghai] Ms. Liu Shaoping’s Case Turned Over to Procuratorate

Ms. Liu Shaoping, a Swiss citizen from the Qingpu District, is being held in the Shanghai City No. 1 Detention Center. Her case has been turned over to the Qingpu Procuratorate.
