(Minghui.org) On the fourth day of the Chinese New Year (January 28, 2020), the phone rang at a police station in Northern China. Someone reported that an elderly woman was passing out Falun Gong materials on the street. The police director gathered a few officers quickly and headed out.
When they got there, they saw a woman in her eighties. They brought her back to the police station anyway.
Unruffled by the ordeal, with a room full of uniformed police officers, the woman spoke with the director in a calm demeanor, as if she was chitchatting with a friend.
She talked about how Falun Gong has enabled many people to improve their health and character. She explained how the Chinese government has been deceiving the public in its persecution of Falun Gong. “We, the practitioners, gave out information about Falun Gong so that people can learn the truth and see the right from the wrong,” she said.
She then told the police that they would be blessed if they treat Falun Gong practitioners kindly, especially amidst the current coronavirus epidemic. “If you had participated in the persecution in the past unknowingly, it is not too late to make up for it,” she told them.
The woman talked non-stop until dusk. At that time, the police director said to others, “Let us divide up the materials she had. Everyone take some home and study them. Go ahead and withdraw from the Communist Party when you are convinced.”
The director then ordered two officers to take the elderly woman home. He repeatedly told them to make sure that she gets home safe and sound. On the way to her home, the two officers decided to withdraw from the CCP.
