Additional Persecution News from China – February 25, 2020 (13 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 13 cities or counties in five provinces, where at least 18 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief. The whereabouts of one of the practitioners is currently unknown.

1. [Shanghai] Mr. Tang Weimin Held in Mental Hospital

Mr. Tang Weimin from the Xuhui District was detained in a mental hospital for refusing to stop practicing Falun Gong. He has been held there for a long time.

2. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Cui Xiuqin Held in Custody

Ms. Cui Xiuqin from the Daoli District was arrested by officers from Jianguo Police Station on February 20, 2020. She is being held in the police station.

3. [Yanji City, Jilin Province] Ms. Cui Qunmei Arrested

Ms. Cui Qunmei was arrested on the afternoon of February 22, 2020, for talking to people about Falun Gong. The police confiscated her Falun Gong books and photos of the founder of Falun Gong.

4. [Xingtai City, Hebei Province] Ms. Yang Yanqiu Arrested

Ms. Yang Yanqiu was arrested on February 4, 2020, for posting Falun Gong materials in the Qiaoxi District. She was taken to Dahuoquan Police Station. Her whereabouts are unknown.

5. [Tangshan City, Hebei Province] Ms. Liu Jinlan Arrested

Ms. Liu Jinlan from the Lubei District was arrested by police on February 21, 2020, for distributing informational materials about Falun Gong. The police ransacked her home, and confiscated a notebook computer, Falun Dafa books, and printed materials.

6. [Handan City, Hebei Province] Ms. Gao Jiuyun and Ms. Hu Lianxiang Held in Detention Center

Ms. Gao Jiuyun and Ms. Hu Lianxiang from Quzhou County were arrested by Li Bin, head of the Quzhou County Domestic Security Division, and other officers on the evening of February 18, 2020. Ms. Gao and Ms. Hu were held in Quzhou Police Department’s Detention Center.

The police ransacked Ms. Hu’s home, and confiscated her Falun Dafa books and printed materials.

Both practitioners are being held in Handan City No. 3 Detention Center.

7. [Yantai City, Shandong Province] Ms. Wu Meiling Arrested

Ms. Wu Meiling from Qixia City was arrested by officers from Cuiping Police Station on the evening of February 10, 2020, for distributing informational materials about Falun Gong. She was released later that evening.

8. [Linfen City, Shanxi Province] Mr. Chen Lin and Ms. Shi Wenyan Arrested

Mr. Chen Lin and Ms. Shi Wenyan from Houma City were arrested by officers from the Fengcheng Township Police Station on the afternoon of February 23, 2020, for talking to people about Falun Gong.

9. [Changyi City, Shandong Province] Ms. Sun Yongqin and Ms. Xu Wanxiang Held in Detention Center

Ms. Sun Yongqin and Ms. Xu Wanxiang were arrested on the evening of February 23, 2020, for talking to people about Falun Gong. Their homes were ransacked.

Both practitioners are being held in Changyi City Detention Center.

10. [Hunchun City, Jilin Province] Ms. Zhang Lan’s Home Ransacked; Ms. Wang Xiaochun Arrested

Ms. Zhang Lan’s home was ransacked on February 20, 2020.

Ms. Wang Xiaochun was arrested at home on the morning of February 21. The police ransacked her home, and confiscated Falun Dafa books.

11. [Daqing City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Wang Xu Detained

Ms. Wang Xu was seen on surveillance cameras distributing informational materials about Falun Gong on February 20, 2020. She was arrested, and is being detained for 15 days.

12. [Beijing] Ms. Wang Yuhong Arrested

Ms. Wang Yuhong was arrested at home by officers from the Chaoyang District Domestic Security Division, 610 Office, and Jinsong Police Station on the afternoon of February 22, 2020. She was taken to the police station. The officers confiscated Falun Dafa books, a computer, USB flash drives, DVDs, and printed materials.

Ms. Wang was taken to Chaoyang Detention Center, but they refused to admit her due to the coronavirus outbreak. She was later sent home.

13. [Fuyuan City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Xu Qinxiang and Ms. Jiang Arrested

Ms. Xu Qinxiang and Ms. Jiang were arrested by Fuyuan City police on the afternoon of February 22, 2020, when they read the Falun Dafa teachings together. Their homes were ransacked.

Both practitioners were later released.
