(Minghui.org) A 69-year-old woman in Dalian City, Liaoning Province, was sentenced to eight years for her faith in Falun Gong, a spiritual discipline that has been persecuted by the Chinese communist regime since 1999.
Ms. Song Xuecun was the third Falun Gong practitioner out of the 23 who were targeted in a group arrest on November 12, 2018 to be sentenced for her faith. She is appealing the verdict.
Another two practitioners, Ms. Jiang Lianxiang and Ms. Cheng Yurong, have been sentenced to three years and three months and four years earlier, by Xigang Court and Gangjingzi District Court, respectively. Both of them have been sent to Liaoning Province Women’s Prison.
Mr. Zhang Kexin, 40, and Ms. Song Shuchun, 70, have been indicted. They are currently awaiting trial by Shahekou District Court, the same court that convicted Ms. Song Xuecun.
Three other practitioners, including Ms. Xu Yanxia, 55, Ms. Chen Yuerong, 61, and Ms. Wang Junying, 51, have had their arrests approved. They are also facing further prosecution for their faith.
The following 15 practitioners who were arrested on the same day as the above 8 practitioners are still waiting for updates in their cases: Ms. Chen Guoyan, Mr. Chen Guoli, Ms. Chen Guohua, Ms. Sun Mingjia, Ms. Sun Yuzhi, Ms. Wang Xufeng, Ms. Dang Li, Ms. Liu Lihua, Ms. Zhang Min, Ms. Xu Yanling, Ms. Cao Limei, Ms. Zou Xiuyan, Ms. Sun Zili, Mr. Liu, and a practitioner surnamed Guo.
