(Minghui.org) Thirty-two Falun Gong practitioners and one family member in Nanyang City, Henan Province were arrested between August 30 and 31, 2019.
Falun Gong, also known as Falun Dafa, is a spiritual discipline that has been persecuted by the Chinese communist regime since 1999.
The Nanyang City government, Political and Legal Affairs Committee (PLAC), 610 Office and local police department orchestrated the arrests.
The PLAC is a non-judicial agency and the 610 Office is an extra-legal agency. Both are given power to override the judicial system and often work hand in hand in to carry out the persecution of Falun Gong.
Most of the arrests took place between 4 am and 5 am. Among the targeted practitioners are 28-year-old Ms. Guan Minghui, who has a mental disability, and three residents in their 80s, including Ms. Han Lianying, Ms. Zhang, and Mr. Kui.
The police ransacked the practitioners’ homes and confiscated their Falun Gong related materials. Ms. Han’s hundreds of thousands of yuan in cash were also taken away.
Ms. Wen Jianhua, a clothing vendor in her 70s, had her store raided and her Falun Gong materials confiscated.
The remaining twenty-seven arrested practitioners and one family member are: Mr. Kui Yingxiang, Ms. He Ximei and her husband Mr. Tie Linfeng, Ms. Zhang Yulian, Ms. Liu Huixia, Ms. Liu Furong, Ms. Liang Zhaofang, Ms. Wang Lianfeng and her husband (who doesn’t practice Falun Gong), Mr. Hu Guoyun, Mr. Ba Xinmin, Mr. Zhang Xibin, Mr. Wang Tiezhuang, Ms. Liu Yuanzhen, Ms. Hu Xiulian, Mr. Wang Wei and his sister, Mr. Qin Zhiwei, Ms. Wang Qin, Ms. Li Wanxia, Ms. Wang Jingduan, Mr. Wei Jianhua, Mr. Zhang Guobin, Mr. Liu Keliang, Ms. Hu Changqing, Ms. Diao, Mr. Chen and another practitioner with the surname Shuang.
