(Minghui.org) Master said:
“When clarifying the truth, when validating the Fa, and when encountering challenges as you do things, adjust yourself and look at things with righteous thoughts. It might just prove to be effective.” (“Fa Teaching at the 2009 Washington DC International Fa Conference”, Collected Fa Teachings, Vol. IX)
Practitioners know that our righteous thoughts come from the Fa. I had been reading the Fa for years, however my thoughts were often still ordinary thoughts when I encountered interference. This had bothered me for a long time.
When reading the Fa more, I finally came to understand that I did not have a correct mind set when I encountered interference. I did not have righteous thoughts and divine thinking. My selfishness, other human attachments, and human thinking prevailed, and I reacted in a way that an everyday person would react.
Master said, "What's not a right mind? It refers to a person's inability to always treat himself as a practitioner." (Lecture Six, Zhuan Falun)
I began to strengthen my righteous thoughts. I kept reminding myself, “I am a Dafa practitioner! I am a Dafa practitioner!”
Gradually over time, I formed a fixed thinking pattern. When encountering a conflict, I was able to remember immediately that “I am a Dafa practitioner,” and I was able to remember the Fa. I could then react based on the Fa; discarding the things I should discard, saving the ones I should save, and eliminating the things I should eliminate.
My husband was repairing the track of a drawer. After he screwed the track in place he asked me to help him put the drawer back on the track.
He placed his side of the drawer into the track but I could not push the drawer into the track on my side. Taking a closer look, we found that the track was not screwed-in correctly. He still complained, “You are so useless and cannot even do such a simple thing correctly! You pushed the track off the position! Can't you do anything right?”
Previously, I would have argued with him, saying,“It was you who screwed the track on wrong, why do you blame me?” Mentalities such as arguing, competing and feelings wronged would surface.
However, this time I controlled myself, and tolerated his accusations without a word. I had been reading the Fa diligently, and achieved further understanding of the Fa – I passed the test.
Master said,
“What is xinxing? It includes de (a type of matter), tolerance, enlightenment quality, sacrifice, giving up ordinary people’s different desires and attachments, being able to suffer hardships, and so on. It encompasses various things. Every aspect of xinxing must be upgraded for you to make real progress. This is a crucial factor in improving gong potency (gongli)." (Lecture One, Zhuan Falun)
I understood that when faced with a tribulation, if I keep a calm and peaceful mind, I am able to remember that I am a Dafa practitioner, and behave accordingly. I felt enlightened, and relieved.
In the chaos of the ordinary society, if we do not keep in mind that we are Dafa practitioners, do not hold up righteous thoughts, we have difficulty recognizing the arrangements of the old forces and can get trapped in their plans. It would be difficult to find a way to break out, and this would result in feeling confused and becoming depressed.
As long as we hold up righteous thoughts for our every word and deed, we will be able to break through all difficulties. Every situation we encounter, regardless if it seems good or bad, are in reality all good, and have happened for a reason. If we hold up righteous thoughts to deal with the situation, the outcome will be good, because Master arranged them for our cultivation!
Through learning Master’s teachings, I came to understand that, since the day we choose to cultivate, everything that constitutes our lives, including our thinking and our physical body, as well as everything we have, are governed by Dafa!
As Dafa practitioners, we must have a clear-mind about who we are. We must learn the Fa well, and cultivate ourselves well. This way we can assist Master with the Fa rectification, and fulfill our vows.
