(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 28 cities or counties in 14 provinces, where at least 60 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

1. [Shanghai] Ms. Wu Yuqin Taken to Prison

Ms. Wu Yuqin from Putuo District was arrested and taken to the No. 7 Ward, Nanhui Prison, on July 8, 2019. She was taken to the Nanhui Prison Hospital on July 14 after she collapsed. She was discharged in early August.

2. [Qiqihar City, Heilongjiang Province] Three Practitioners Transferred to Tailai Prison

Mr. Zhang Fuhai, Mr. Zhao Yi, and Mr. Tian Yong were transferred from the Fengtun Prison to the Tailai Prison in early August 2019. Ms. Zhang’s father went to the Tailai Prison to visit him, but prison officials did not allow them to meet.

3. [Jiamusi City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Zhang Xiuchun Arrested

The police broke into Ms. Zhang Xiuchun’s rented home and ransacked the place on July 27, 2019. They confiscated her Falun Dafa books.

Ms. Zhang, 73, a former teacher from the Reclamation Middle School, was arrested at her rented home on July 31.

4. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Four Practitioners Arrested

Mr. Hou Hongxin, around 50, and Mr. Tan Qiucheng, 43, were arrested at their rented home on August 15, 2019.

Mr. Cong Nan, 57, was secretly tried. He is being held in Cell 304, Changchun City No. 4 Detention Center.

Ms. Li Jing, 67, was sentenced to 10 years in prison, and taken to the Jilin Women's Prison. Her family recently went to the prison to deposit money for her. They asked to meet Ms. Li, but were refused.

5. [Shulan City, Jilin Province] Ms. Qu Xiumin Sentenced to Prison

Ms. Qu Xiumin was arrested on July 18, 2019. She was given a two-year-and-six-month prison term with three-years probation, and fined 2,000 yuan in May 2019.

6. [Jilin City, Jilin Province] Ms. Wang Xinmin Arrested

Ms. Wang Xinmin, 62, from Zuojia Town, was ID checked at the Zuojia Town Train Station exit when she took the train from Changchun City to Jilin City on August 12, 2019. She was followed to her home and arrested by plainclothes officers that day. Her home was ransacked. Her current whereabouts are unknown.

7. [Tumen City, Jilin Province] Ms. Chi Shujie Harassed

Two officers led by Li Shuang, deputy director of the Shixian Town Police Station, broke into Ms. Chi Shujie’s home and ransacked the place on August 14, 2019. They forced her to give up her belief.

8. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Li Jianmei Officially Arrested

Ms. Li Jianmei from Shahekou District was arrested and taken to the Lijiajie Police Station when she gave information about Falun Gong to a plainclothes officer on the morning of July 2, 2019. Her home was ransacked. She was taken to the Yaojia Detention Center. She was physically examined. Her blood pressure reading reached 220, and she was then taken back to the police station. Her family received notice on July 14 that she was officially placed under arrest. She is being held in the Yaojia Detention Center.

9. [Baoding City, Hebei Province] Mr. Ma Yulin and Mr. Zhang Yueming Held in Custody

Mr. Ma Yulin and Mr. Zhang Yueming were reported to the authorities when they talked to people about Falun Gong on their way to northeastern China for sight seeing on August 17, 2019. They were arrested, and taken back by the Baoding City police. Mr. Zhang is being held in the Baoding Detention Center for 10 days of detention. Mr. Ma is being held in the Yimian Police Station, Jingxiu District.

10. [Zhuozhou City, Hebei Province] Ms. Jia Fengxian Displaced

Zhang, deputy chief, and five other officers from the Zhuozhou City Police Station led by Liang Yufeng, head of the Zhuozhou City Domestic Security Division, broke into Ms. Jia Fengxian’s home and ransacked the place on August 10, 2019. They also attempted to arrest her. Ms. Jia has been displaced to avoid arrest.

11. [Tangshan City, Hebei Province] Ms. Zhang Shaokun Detained

Ms. Zhang Shaokun, 65, was arrested by officers from the Guoyuan Township Police Station when she was talking to people about Falun Gong at the Songxuexinzhuang farmers market on the morning of August 17, 2019. She is being held in the Tangshan City Detention Center for five days of detention.

12. [Qi County, Henan Province] Mr. Jia Zhongmin and Wife Ms. Zhang Yuhua Arrested

Mr. Jia Zhongmin, 59, and his wife Ms. Zhang Yuhua, 62, from Silangmiao Village were arrested at home on the morning of August 16, 2019. The police confiscated Falun Dafa books, a computer, a printer, and over 40,000 yuan in cash.

13. [Gaomi City, Shandong Province] Ms. Xia Jixiang Arrested

Four or five officers from the Chaoyang Police Station broke into Ms. Xia Jixiang’s home and ransacked the place on the evening of August 15, 2019. They confiscated an MP3, a memory card, a music player, Zhuan Falun, and Minghui Weekly. Ms. Xia was taken to the police station. The officers took photos of items they confiscated, photographed her, and collected her signature and fingerprints. She was released due to heart discomfort.

14. [Weihai City, Shandong Province] Ms. Gu Meijuan’s Daughter’s Trip Interrupted

Ms. Gu Meijuan was arrested several times for talking to people about Falun Gong. Her information was recorded in the border control online system. Her daughter Ms. Liu Lu’s was intercepted at the Beijing International Airport when she was heading to the U.S. on a business trip on August 14, 2019. This was a traumatizing experience for Ms. Liu, and has resulted in losses to her company.

15. [Jinxian County, Jiangxi Province] Ms. Zhou Rongmei Held in Custody

Ms. Zhou Rongmei, 39, was arrested on August 13, 2019 after she distributed information about Falun Gong. She is being held in the Jinxian County Detention Center.

Ms. Zhou was arrested in 2014 for talking to people about Falun Gong. Afterwards, she was twice arrested and detained for one week in her hometown.

16. [Zhongshan City, Guangdong Province] Four Practitioners Arrested

A group of officers from the Yuelainan Police Station, Shiqi District, broke into 70-plus-year-old Ms. Li Meiqiong’s home and arrested her on April 21, 2019.

Mr. Yang Jinyan, in her 60s, Mr. Lu Weiwen, in his 40s, and Ms. Li Chuntao, in her 40s, were also arrested on April 21. Their homes were ransacked. Ms. Li Meiqiong and Mr. Lu were released that day. Ms. Yang and Ms. Li Chuntao were taken to the Zhongshan City Detention Center.

17. [Chengdu City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Zhang Jiexiang Arrested

Officers from the Shaheyuan Police Station, Jinniu District, and the Xinqiao Community personnel broke into Ms. Zhang Jiexiang’s home and ransacked the place on the afternoon of August 6, 2019. They confiscated Falun Dafa books and materials. Ms. Zhang was taken to the police station, where she was interrogated and threatened. She was released that evening.

18. [Lanzhou City, Gansu Province] Ms. Liu Zhenhua Detained

Ms. Liu Zhehua was reported to the police for talking to people about Falun Gong on July 10, 2019, and was arrested by officers from the Dingyuan Police Station, Yuzhong County. The officers forcibly took a sample of her blood and collected her fingerprints. She was then taken to the Yuzhong County Detention Center for five days of detention.

19. [Baishan City, Jilin Province] Ms. Sun Liping Held in Custody

Ms. Sun Liping was reported to the authorities and arrested for talking to others about Falun Gong on August 18, 2019. She is being held in the Baishan City Detention Center.

20. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Ms. Si Ruijing Arrested

Ms. Si Ruijing and her husband were to take the high-speed train to Shanghai to visit their daughter on August 15, 2019. She was arrested at the security checkpoint at the Changchun Train Station for carrying Falun Dafa books. She was taken to the Weizigou Detention Center. Her home was ransacked. Her husband was threatened and followed all the way to the building where his daughter lives in Shanghai.

21. [Jiangyou City, Sichuan Province] Several Practitioners Arrested

Cao Huajun and Liu Chengyi, both from the Jiangyou City Domestic Security Division, and several plainclothes officers from the Fujiang Police Station ransacked Mr. Peng Tangquan’s home on the afternoon of July 20, 2019. They confiscated a computer, photos of the founder of Falun Gong, and printed materials. Mr. Peng, an engineer, was detained for 15 days at his home. Mr. Peng is now displaced.

The same group of officers went to the home of elderly Xu, who is over 80 years old, and confiscated Zhuan Falun and photos of the founder of Falun Gong on the afternoon of July 20, 2019.

Seven or eight officers from the Chengbei Police Station broke into home of Mr. Li Birong, in her 80s, and ransacked the place on the morning of July 20, 2019. The officers also searched the bag of Ms. Zhang Yuanzhen, who came to visit Mr. Liu. Mr. Liu and Ms. Zhang were arrested. Mr. Liu was detained for 15 days at home. Ms. Zhang walked out with righteous thoughts.

That same day, the homes of Ms. Zhang Chunfang, Ms. He Xiuying, Ms. Zhang Guiqin, and Ms. Liu Peixiu were ransacked. The officers confiscated their Falun Dafa books and materials.

22. [Fanchang County, Anhui Province] Ms. Gui Caixiang’s Home Ransacked

More than twelve officers broke into elderly Ms. Gui Caixiang’s home and ransacked the place on July 15, 2019. They confiscated Falun Dafa books, weekly publications, a music player, and a cell phone. The officers also went to her daughter-in-law's home, also a practitioner, and ransacked the place.

23. [Xiajin County, Shandong Province] Three Practitioners Arrested

Ms. Liu Guixiang, Ms. Yang Fenglan, and Ms. Wang Zhenlan were arrested when they were reading the teachings together on August 17, 2019. Ms. Wang was released. The other two practitioners were held in the Dezhou Detention Center.

24. [Jinan City, Shandong Province] Mr. Yin Feng Taken into Custody

Mr. Yin Feng was lured to the Dongzhan Police Station by an officer when he just returned home after work on the morning of August 19, 2019. He has not returned home yet. His home was ransacked.

His family went to the police station to demand his release. They were told that Mr. Yin’s case was handled by the Huayuan Police Station and the Domestic Security Division. The family then went to the Huayuan Police Station, where they were told that Mr. Yin had been taken to the Jinan City No. 5 Detention Center.

25. [Shouguang City, Shandong Province] Three Practitioners Arrested

Ms. Han Xinying was arrested and her home ransacked by officers from the Shouguang City Domestic Security Division and the Jianqiao Police Station on August 19, 2019.

Mr. Yao Chuntang and his wife Ms. Fu Xiuzhen from Jianqiao Village were also arrested, and their home was ransacked that day.

Also on August 19, the officers went to Ms. Wang Jinhua’s home and ransacked the place. As a result Ms. Wang has become displaced.

26. [Weifang City, Shandong Province] Eight Practitioners Arrested

More than twelve officers from the Beimeng Town Police Station broke into Ms. Li Aiyun’s home and arrested eight practitioners, who were practicing the Falun Gong exercises together on the afternoon of August 19, 2019. They are Mr. Liu Shushun, Ms. Li Aiyun, Ms. Liu Huiling, Ms. Zhu Suhua, Ms. Zhu Lanzhen, Ms. Du Yanfang, Ms. Zhu Ruilan, and elderly Wei. The officers ransacked Ms. Li’s home and confiscated all her Falun Dafa books, printed materials, a music player, a cell phone, and photos of the founder of Falun Gong.

27. [Kunming City, Yunnan Province] Ms. Chen Guiying Taken into Custody

Ms. Chen Guiying, 72, from the Chunyuan Residential Community, was recorded by surveillance cameras when she was talking to others about Falun Gong on August 12, 2019. Officers from the Daguan Police Station followed her to her home, ransacked the place, and confiscated her Falun Dafa books. Ms. Chen was taken to the police station, where she was interrogated. She was then taken to the Kunming City Detention Center.

28. [She County, Hebei Province] Ms. Wang Zhenhong Arrested

Ms. Wang Zhenhong from the Tianjin Iron Plant was arrested by officers from the Pangqi Police Station on August 16, 2019. The officers ransacked her home and confiscated a computer, a printer, printed materials, and paper bills with Falun Gong information printed on them.

The officers also ransacked the home of her non-practitioner parents. After that the officers went to ransack home of her mother-in-law, who is practitioner.

Ms. Wang was secretly taken to the Handan City No. 3 Detention Center on August 17.

29. [Handan City, Hebei Province] Ms. Wang Zhenghong Arrested

Ms. Wang Zhenghong from Gengle Town, She County, was arrested by the She County police when she was distributing informational materials about Falun Gong around August 16, 2019.

30. [Hangzhou City, Zhejiang Province] Ms. Huang Jiaying Arrested

Ms. Huang Jiaying, in her 70s, from Binjiang District was arrested by more than twelve officers from the Binjiang District Political and Legal Affairs Committee, the 610 Office, the Domestic Security Division, the Changhe Police Station, and the Gaoxin Police Station at the end of July 2019. Her home was ransacked. She was taken to the Gaoxin Police Station and released that evening.
