(Minghui.org) In Dafa cultivation, I often hear practitioners say that we will follow Master to reach “consummation.” But what is consummation? How does one reach consummation? I had never carefully thought about it.
I asked myself, how many attachments have I eliminated after so many years of cultivation? How many human notions and desires have I let go of solidly? I felt ashamed of myself. Clinging to human thinking, notions, desires, and clinging to the “real” things seen by my human eyes, could I reach consummation?
I even took the losses and gains in human society as a measurement for the “blessings” from cultivation, and thus cared about personal gain instead of solid cultivation. With such a cultivation state, I still looked forward to the end of the Fa-rectification and expected I would reach consummation at that time. How was that possible?
Master’s Fa suddenly make to mind,
“Cultivate until not one attachment is left” (“Cultivating in a Maze”, Hong Yin)
“Achieve Consummation, becoming a Buddha, Dao, or God” (“True Nature Revealed”, Essentials for Further Advancement II)
I realized that to reach consummation is to remove all human thinking and notions, and to remove ego and selfishness. In the realm of consummation, one’s body is in the human world, but one's mind is not.
When I have no desires or attachments and no selfishness, I will naturally reach consummation. This was my enlightenment. It is now time to quickly let go of attachments and desires. I know Master has been waiting ... waiting for the day that we are able to reach consummation.
