Additional Persecution News from China – July 21, 2019 (16 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 16 cities or counties in 10 provinces，where at least 54 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

1. [Jilin City, Jilin Province] Ms. Zhao Yuqin and Four Other Practitioners Arrested

Three officers including Lu Zemin from the Tongjiang Police Station, Changyi District, broke into Ms. Zhao Yuqin’s home, ransacked it, and arrested Ms. Zhao and her daughter Ms. Liu Bing on the afternoon of July 19, 2019. They confiscated printers, notebook computers, Falun Dafa books and videotapes, a cell phone, an MP3, a USB flash drive, and a music player. Both mother and daughter were taken to the police station, where they were interrogated and photographed. Ms. Zhao was taken back home by the police. Ms. Liu was taken to a detention center.

Mr. Zhang Lu was arrested on the same day by officers from the the Jilin City 610 Office and the Domestic Security Division. His mother Ms. Liu Xueying was arrested at home later that day.

Ms. Wang Yuping and her non-practitioner husband were arrested at home on July 19, 2019. All their Falun Gong materials were confiscated. Her husband was released later.

2. [Yongji County, Jilin Province] Ms. Li Fuzhen and Two Other Practitioners Arrested

Ms. Li Fuzhen from Yongji County, Mr. Sun Zhiwen and Ms. Wang Shulan, both from Kouqian Town, were arrested on July 19, 2019. They were released that day.

3. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Four Practitioners Arrested

Ms. Zhang Qiang and her husband Mr. Pan Yongjun were arrested by officers from the Kuancheng Police Department on the morning of July 19, 2019. The officers ransacked their home and confiscated Falun Dafa books, photos of the founder of Falun Gong, a notebook computer, a printer, and Minghui Weekly. Both practitioners were detained.

Ms. Bao Yaqin, 66, took the train to visit relatives out of town on the afternoon of July 19, 2019. She was searched and arrested by the police at the Changchun Train Station. She was taken to the Weizigou Detention Center that evening.

On the same day, a practitioner with the last name Shao, who is a dentist, was arrested by officers from the Kuancheng Police Department. The officers ransacked practitioner Shao’s home and confiscated photos of the founder of Falun Gong, Falun Gong books, and materials. Shao was taken to the Changchun City No. 4 Detention Center that afternoon.

4. [Xichang City, Sichuan Province] Five Practitioners Arrested

Mr. Huang Biao was arrested upon returning home from shopping by a dozen or so Domestic Security officers, who staked out there on the afternoon of July 14, 2019. The officers ransacked his home and took tens of thousands in cash.

Ms. Pang Shufen and Ms. Xu Shaoqiong were later arrested successively when they went to Mr. Huang’s home. Ms. Pang’s home was ransacked. Both practitioners were taken to the Xicheng Police Station for interrogation.

Ms. Pang was released on bail and brought back home by her son. Officers from the Xincun Police Station ransacked Ms. Xu’s home. Two other elderly practitioners were also arrested when they went to Ms. Xu’s home on July 17.

5. [Anqing City, Anhui Province] Four Practitioners Arrested

Ms. Dong Jinping (47 years old), Ms. Dong’s daughter Ms. Xu Manna (about 20 years old), Ms. Zhang Xueqin (36 years old), and Ms. Yu Yi (48 years old), from Wangxiang County, were followed and arrested when they were distributing Falun Gong materials in the county’s downtown district on the afternoon of July 9, 2019. The police ransacked their homes late that afternoon and confiscated computers and Falun Gong books. Ms. Xu was released that evening. The other three practitioners were taken to the Anqing City Detention Center.

6. [Qingzhou City, Shandong Province] Mr. She Xinmin and Wife Arrested

Five officers from the Tanfang Town Police Station broke into Mr. She Xinmin’s home in Sunlou Village and ransacked it on the morning of July 16, 2019. They confiscated photos of the founder of Falun Gong and weekly publications. Mr. She, 75, was not at home at the time. The officers arrested his wife. The officers subsequently went to Mr. She’s workplace and arrested him. The couple was released that afternoon.

7. [Laixi City, Shandong Province] Ms. Sun Yuzhen Taken to Prison

Ms. Sun Yuzhen was given a three-year prison term. Her original verdict was upheld at the second trial. She was taken to the Shandong Province Women's Prison on May 7, 2019.

8. [Zhuhai City, Guangdong Province] Ms. Liu Xiuying and Ms. Yan Aiping Arrested

Ms. Liu Xiuying was arrested by officers from the Ningxi Police Station on July 12, 2019. She was released that afternoon.

Ms. Yan Aiping was arrested on July 12. The police ransacked her home and confiscated a computer, Falun Dafa books, and a cell phone. She was released the following afternoon.

9. [Guilin City, Guangxi Autonomous Region] Ms. Qin Xiaoping and Another Female Practitioner Held in Custody

Ms. Qin Xiaoping and another female practitioner were arrested on July 18, 2019 when they distributed informational materials about Falun Gong and talked to people about it. They are being held in the Guilin City No. 2 Detention Center.

10. [Nanchang City, Jiangxi Province] Four Practitioners Arrested

Ms. Chen Baozhi was arrested by about 20 plainclothes officers from the Nanchang City Domestic Security Division, the Xihu District Police Department’s No. 6 Criminal Investigation Squad, and police stations on the evening of July 18, 2019. The officers ransacked her home and confiscated a printer, a computer, a DVD burner, Falun Gong books, printed materials, all bank cards, and 28,000 yuan in cash.

The officers also arrested Ms. Jiang Lanying, who came to visit Ms. Chen.

At the same time, two practitioners with the last names Chen and Liu were also arrested. Chen’s home was ransacked.

11. [Yongqing County, Hebei Province] Mr. Pang Baoshan Detained

Officers from the Yongqing County Domestic Security Division and the Yangmazhuang Township Police Station broke into Mr. Pang Baoshan’s home and ransacked it on the morning of July 19, 2019. They confiscated Falun Gong books, a computer, and a cell phone. They also videotaped in and out of his home. Mr. Pang was taken to the police station for blood testing. He was then taken to the Yongqing County Detention Center for 10 days of detention.

12. [Shijiazhuang City, Hebei Province] Ms. Geng Shulan and Ms. Li Dongmei Arrested

Ms. Geng Shulan and Ms. Li Dongmei were reported to the authorities for talking to people about Falun Gong on the afternoon of July 18, 2019. They were arrested and are being held in the Zhongshan Police Station, Qiaoxi District.

13. [Tanghe County, Henan Province] Mr. Dang Changhua Arrested

Mr. Dang Changhua was arrested by officers from the Tanghe No. 2 Police Station on July 19, 2019.

14. [Luoyang City, Henan Province] Ms. Du Aixiang Held in Custody

Ms. Du Aixiang was arrested by officers from the Xigong Police Department, the Jinguyuan Police Station, the Mengjin County Police Department, and the Baihe Township Police Station at noon on July 19, 2019. The officers ransacked her home and confiscated all her Falun Dafa books, photos of the founder of Falun Gong, printed materials, and several thousands of yuan in cash.

Ms. Du’s husband and daughter were also arrested. Her husband was released that day, and their daughter was released two days later. Ms. Du is being held in the Luoyang City Detention Center.

15. [Tianjin] Three Practitioners Arrested

The Gangdong Police Station, Dagang District, dispatched a large number of police officers, who arrested Ms. Xu Lianhong, Ms. Liu Xiaoyun and Ms. Chang on the morning of July 19, 2019. They confiscated Falun Gong books, photos of the founder of Falun Gong, and music players.

Ms. Zhao Jin from Xianshuigu Town, Jinnan District, was arrested on her way to work by officers from the Tianjin City Police Department and the Jinnan District Police Department on the afternoon of July 18, 2019. She was taken to the Jinnan District Detention Center that afternoon.

16. [Qishan County, Shaanxi Province] Ms. Xu Mingxia Arrested

Twelve practitioners including Ms. Xu Mingxia, 62, were arrested when they were studying the Fa together on July 10, 2019 by members of the Qishan County 610 Office, who had planned the arrests ahead of time.
