Shenyang City, Liaoning Province: 13 Falun Gong Practitioners Arrested in One Day
(Minghui.org) Thirteen Falun Gong practitioners in Shenyang City, Liaoning Province, were arrested on July 10, 2019, for not renouncing their faith, a spiritual discipline that has been persecuted by the Chinese communist regime since 1999.
The arrests came ten days before the 20th anniversary of the onset of the persecution of Falun Gong. That same day, another 28 practitioners in Chengdu City, Sichuan Province, were also arrested within a few hours. Other group arrests also took place in Shandong and Hebei Provinces earlier this month.
Below are details of the arrests in Shenyang on July 10.
Ms. Liu Xiuchun in the Shenhe District was arrested around noon. Her home was ransacked.
Mr. Ding Guochen and his wife Ms. Yan Qinghua from the Jinzhou District were also arrested around noon. The police confiscated their computer and printer. Ms. Yan has been released on bail. Mr. Ding was transferred to the Jinzhou District Detention Center.
More than 20 officers went to Mr. Jia Xiaodong's workplace, a power transformer manufacturing company, around 2:30 p.m. and arrested Mr. Ji and his colleague Mr. Wang. The police ransacked Mr. Jia's home and interrogated him in the basement of the Jixian Police Station until the following evening.
When Mr. Jia's wife and daughter went to the police station on July 11 to ask about him, the police refused to tell them anything.
Mr. Jia is being held in the Heping District Detention Center.
Several officers went to Mr. Zhao Jiyuan's apartment in the Dadong District around 6 p.m. on July 10. Before Mr. Zhao came home, the police held his wife, Ms. Li Xiujie, and didn't let her leave. They waited there and arrested Mr. Zhao when he returned. They ransacked his home.
Mr. Tian Baochang was arrested around 8:30 p.m. The police ransacked his residence.
Also arrested were: Ms. Li Yuhua and another elderly female practitioner from the Heping District; Mr. Li Zhendong, his wife Ms. Tian Xiuyun, and a practitioner surnamed Bai from the Huanggu District; and a female practitioner surnamed Liu from the Dadong District. Most of these practitioners also had their homes ransacked.
