(Minghui.org) Five Falun Gong practitioners in Hegang City, Heilongjiang Province are facing trial for their faith after they were indicted by Xing'an District Procuratorate.
The five practitioners are Ms. You Jinying, Ms. Pang Zhongyan, Ms. Feng Junqing, Mr. Peng Yanfeng, and Ms. Li Chunhui.
Falun Gong, also known as Falun Dafa, is a spiritual discipline that has been persecuted by the Chinese communist regime since 1999.
Ms. You, 46, was arrested in June 2018 and has been detained at Hegang City Detention Center since. Her arrest was approved by Suibin County Procuratorate, which then transferred her case to Xing'an District Procuratorate. Prior to her latest arrest, she served a four-year term in prison between 2012 and 2016 for her faith.
Ms. Pang was arrested on September 13, 2018 for talking to people about Falun Gong. She was released on bail on September 30.
Mr. Peng and his wife Ms. Feng were arrested on February 14, 2019. Mr. Peng was released on bail after 15 days of detention. Ms. Feng has been held at Hegang City Detention Center since then.
Mr. Peng was taken back into custody on April 26, 2019 when he went to the Discipline Inspection Committee of Xiangyang Police Department to complain about the police's unlawful arrests of him and his wife.
Another practitioner who went with him, Ms. Li Chunhui, was also arrested.
While Mr. Peng was released on bail again after 15 days of detention, Ms. Li was transferred to Hegang Detention Center on May 11, 2019.
Ms. Li is a mother of two boys. She usually picked up her 12-year-old son from school. On the day of her arrest, the boy waited until the evening, but his mother never showed up. So he went to pick up his 9-year-old brother and crossed the street to look for their grandmother.
As soon as their grandmother took them back, the police came to ransack their home. The younger boy cried immediately upon seeing his mother being handcuffed and their home turned upside down by the police.
