(Minghui.org) In the process of cultivating, I discovered that my every attachment is a demon. It uses my human heart and karma, and manipulates me into doing something wrong.
For example, when I took a bus, I knew the driver, because he was a friend of my brother’s. When I got into the bus, I felt lust creep into my mind. I didn’t have time to reject it. Then, the driver said that I didn’t have to pay. I smiled and put my fare in the box and said I was okay. After I put the money in, I touched his shoulder unconsciously and entered the bus. This embarrassed both the driver and myself.
I was surprised when that happened because I am actually a very conservative person. When I got home, I realized that it was lust. So I kept rejecting it and sending righteous thoughts to eliminate it. However, at that time I thought the lust came from myself. I felt very upset and helpless because I felt the lust so strongly. Fortunately, Master saw that I had the desire to eliminate it and helped me resolve this embarrassing situation.
These demons labeled as attachments are very confusing. Sometimes we can realize they are there, but when the main consciousness is not strong or we can't keep up with Fa study, it is easy to believe it is ourselves. Then, they have a reason to manipulate us. Why do we think that we still have these feelings, even when we keep cultivating? In fact, when we separate them from ourselves, it is easier to see that those things are not part of our true selves.
Master said:
“In other words, a person’s earliest life comes from the universe. The space of the universe is benevolent to begin with and embodies the characteristic of Zhen-Shan-Ren. At birth, one is assimilated to the characteristic of the universe.” (Lecture One, Zhuan Falun)
I understand now that all these dirty attachments were added by the old forces bit by bit when I came down to this human world. They would be used to interfere with my righteous thoughts and to interfere with my cultivation, while assisting Master to save people during Fa-rectification.
Since then, whenever these dirty demons emerge in my mind, the first thought that comes to my mind is: you are not my true self. I really don't have these self-defeating qualities. I don't recognize the arrangements by the old forces. I only walk on the path that Master has arranged. Don’t try to manipulate me, or you'll be eliminated! When doing this, I can clearly feel that they are weakening and disappearing.
I wrote this article to expose the old forces’ underhanded tactics and reject them.
