Additional Persecution News from China – May 27, 2019 (7 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 7 cities or counties in 5 provinces, where at least 11 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

1. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Liu Guoliang and His Wife Ms. Wang Fenglan Arrested
2. [Wafangdian City, Liaoning Province] Three Practitioners Sentenced
3. [Beijing] Ms. Xu Xiufen Detained
4. [Tianjin] Mr. Li Yongquan Tortured and Severely Injured
5. [Dingxing County, Hebei Province] Mr. Li Laifang and His Father Arrested
6. [Heze City, Shandong Province] Ms. Wang Cuiying Officially Arrested
7. [Jieyang City, Guangdong Province] Mr. Wu Meiping Detained

1. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Liu Guoliang and His Wife Ms. Wang Fenglan Arrested

Mr. Liu Guoliang and his wife Ms. Wang Fenglan from the Songbei District were arrested at home on or around April 17, 2019.

2. [Wafangdian City, Liaoning Province] Three Practitioners Sentenced

Ms. Chen Lirong, Ms. Chen Guirong, and Mr. Wang Yongsheng, from Ganghou Village, Fuzhoucheng Town, were arrested by officers from the Xianyuwan Police Station on the evening of July 29, 2018. They were taken to the Wafangdian City Criminal Police Division the following day.

Mr. Wang was later transferred to the Wafangdian Detention Center, while Ms. Chen Lirong and Ms. Chen Guirong were taken to the Yaojia Detention Center.

The three practitioners have been sentenced to prison.

3. [Beijing] Ms. Xu Xiufen Detained

Fully armed police officers from the Liangxiang Town Police Station in the Fangshan District broke into Ms. Xu Xiufen's home on the morning of April 19, 2019.

When they found out that Ms. Xu was at work, they went to her workplace, arrested her, and took her away in handcuffs. They then took her to her home and ransacked it.

Ms. Xu is most likely being held in the Fangshan District Detention Center.

4. [Tianjin] Mr. Li Yongquan Tortured and Severely Injured

Mr. Li Yongquan, a dentist from Shangmatai Township in the Wuqing District, was arrested at work and taken to the Shangmatai Police Station on December 28, 2017. He was severely tortured to the point of being disabled. He has not yet been released.

5. [Dingxing County, Hebei Province] Mr. Li Laifang and His Father Arrested

Mr. Li Laifang and his father were arrested on the evening of May 23, 2019. Their home was ransacked. Both practitioners were taken to a detention center.

Mr. Li's father, who is in his seventies, was later released.

6. [Heze City, Shandong Province] Ms. Wang Cuiying Officially Arrested

Ms. Wang Cuiying from the Mudan District was arrested on March 7, 2019, for distributing Falun Gong informational materials. Over 20 officers ransacked her home when no one was there. They confiscated Falun Gong books, audio players, printed materials, and journals.

The Mudan Police Department instructed Ms. Wang's family to pick up the detention documents on March 8. The family received the arrest notice on April 13.

Ms. Wang is being held in the Heze City Detention Center.

7. [Jieyang City, Guangdong Province] Mr. Wu Meiping Detained

Mr. Wu Xuqin's father Mr. Wu Meiping went to the Jieyang City court on March 15, 2019, to apply for a permit to attend his son's court hearing. He was arrested by police officers called in by the court staff.

Mr. Wu Meiping was held in the city detention center for 29 days.
