(Minghui.org) Mr. Mei Shufeng and his wife, Ms. Chen Guilian, were putting up self-adhesive posters reading “Falun Dafa is good” when the police drove by and arrested them on May 8, 2019.
Falun Dafa, also known as Falun Gong, is a spiritual and meditation discipline that has been persecuted by the Chinese communist regime since 1999.

The police ransacked the couple's home in Yingkou City, Liaoning Province twice and confiscated their computer, printer, ink and Falun Gong books – all of which were to be used as evidence to charge them.
When the couple's family went to Huangtuling Town Police Station to demand their release, Xue Yong, chief of the police station who arrested the couple, turned them away. He also asked the family to report other Falun Gong practitioners to them, but they refused to do so.
Xue has refused to give the couple's family a formal written notice of their arrest. “It's fine to just inform you in person.” he said.
Mr. Mei is currently held at Dashiqiao City Detention Center and Ms. Chen is being detained at Yingkou City Detention Center.
When his lawyer visited him at the detention center, he noticed that Mr. Mei had some difficulty walking. His family is worried that he is being mistreated or tortured.
Arrested for the Practice That Helped Them Mentally and Physically
Ms. Chen, 53, began to practice Falun Gong on August 25, 2014. She used to be bedridden because of various ailments, including heart problems, lung and stomach inflammation, as well as low blood pressure. Less than two months after she learned Falun Gong, she completely recovered and was able to do household chores.
After witnessing the miraculous health improvement in Ms. Chen, Mr. Mei also picked up the practice in 2015. He used to suffer from severe rheumatoid arthritis around his leg and feet joints, especially during rainy season. That problem also disappeared soon after he started doing the Falun Gong exercises.
The couple managed a popular vegetable booth in the farmers' market. They follow Falun Gong's principles of Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance in their daily business and have a good reputation for providing clean and fresh vegetables.
Now they face prosecution for sharing how Falun Gong benefited their lives.
