(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 20 cities or counties in 11 provinces, where at least 36 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

1. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Li Guixian Sentenced to Prison

Mr. Li Guixian was recently sentenced to a three-and-a-half-year prison term by the Daoli District Court.

2. [Hailin City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Qi Huiling Detained

Ms. Qi Huiling is being held in the Hailin City Detention Center.

3. [Zhaodong City, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Sun Shutang Detained

Mr. Sun Shutang was arrested on the morning of April 20, 2019. The police ransacked his home and confiscated photos of the founder of Falun Gong, Falun Gong books, and a computer.

Mr. Sun is being held in the Zhaodong City Detention Center.

4. [Fuyu City, Jilin Province] Ms. Ma Hua Officially Arrested

Ms. Ma Hua, 67, was arrested when she was talking to people about Falun Gong on January 23, 2019. She was taken to the Shanyou Detention Center in Songyuan City.

Ms. Ma was officially placed under arrest on February 1.

5. [Chaoyang City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Zhang Guijin and Ms. Xin Fengqin Arrested

Ms. Zhang Guijin was arrested by the Chaoyang Railway police when she was talking to people about Falun Gong on the morning of April 15, 2019. Her home was ransacked that afternoon. Two other practitioners in her home were arrested, and later released. Ms. Zhang is being detained for ten days.

Several officers from the Nanta Police Department broke into Ms. Xin Fengqin's home, ransacked it, and arrested her on the morning of April 16.

6. [Beijing] Ms. Xu Xiufen Arrested

Ms. Xu Xiufen from Lu Village, Liangxiang Town, Fangshan District, was arrested at home by officers from the Fangshan Police Department and Lu Village Police Station on April 19, 2019. Her home was ransacked.

Ms. Xu has been arrested several times before and beaten by the police. While imprisoned she was abused by inmates who were assigned by the guards to closely monitor her. Also, unknown drugs were mixed into her food numerous times.

7. [Tianjin] Three Practitioners Arrested

Mr. Wang Chengdong from the Hedong District was arrested by officers from the Lushandao Police Station on April 10, 2019. He was taken to the Tianjin Detention Center.

Ms. Wang Shengqin was arrested when she read the Falun Gong teachings with others online.

Ms. Zhu, in her 80s, was arrested by the director of Tianta Police Station, and officers Wang Xiaolu and Zhang Guoyi, at around midday on April 17, 2019. She was released at 4:00 p.m. Her Falun Dafa books and photos of the founder of Falun Gong were confiscated.

8. [Shenzhou City, Hebei Province] Mr. Li Dengchen's Health Deteriorates in Detention Center

Mr. Li Dengche, 79, a retired teacher from Chenshi Town, was arrested in the winter of 2018. He was taken to the Shenzhou City Detention Center, where he recently developed symptoms of illness and was placed in the intensive care unit.

Mr. Li was healthy, energetic, and in high spirits prior to his arrest. Within a few months he became thin and frail.

9. [Linyi City, Shandong Province] Ms. Yao Xia Arrested

Ms. Yao Xia from the Luozhuang District was arrested by officers from the Shengzhuang Police Station on April 11, 2019, when she was talking to people about Falun Gong.

10. [Rongcheng City, Shandong Province] Ms. Sun Yuping Arrested

Ms. Sun Yuping from Buliu Town was arrested by plainclothes officers on April 17, 2019, when she was talking to people about Falun Gong.

11. [Dongying City, Shandong Province] Ms. Xia Deyun Sentenced to Prison

Ms. Xia Deyun from the Shengli Oilfield was arrested when she went to the train station to see her parents in late April 2018. She was taken to a brainwashing center by the Binhai Police Department Domestic Security Division, before being transferred to a detention center in late May 2018.

Ms. Xia's case was filed at the Procuratorate and court in the Dongying District. She was tried in January 2019, and was recently sentenced to a one-year prison term.

12. [Rongcheng City, Shandong Province] Ms. Huang Lina Detained

Ms. Huang Lina from Xilongjia Village, Yatou Town, was reported to the authorities for talking to people about Falun Gong at the Quanyangjia Farmers' Market in Xiazhuang Town. She was arrested and taken to the Rongcheng City Detention Center by officers from the Xiazhuang Police Station.

13. [Boxing County, Shandong Province] Mr. Wang Lanyun Arrested

Over 30 officers from the Boxing County Domestic Security Division and Pangjia Police Station broke into Mr. Wang Lanyun's home and arrested him on the morning of April 17, 2019. They confiscated a printer and other materials.

14. [Si County, Anhui Province] Ms. Gao Chengmei Arrested

Ms. Gao Chengmei had been displaced since 2015 for filing a criminal complaint against Jiang Zemin, the former head of the Chinese Communist Party. She returned home in 2018, but was arrested by officers from the Chengqu Police Station on April 18, 2019.

15. [Leqing City, Zhejiang Province] Mr. Huang Qingdeng and His Wife Ms. Huang Eying Detained

Officers from the Leqing City 610 Office, Domestic Security Division, and Hongqiao Police Station broke into Mr. Huang Qingdeng and Ms. Huang Eying's home and ransacked it on the morning of April 17, 2019. They confiscated Falun Dafa books, photos of the founder of Falun Gong, and a computer. The couple were taken to the Leqing Detention Center.

16. [Ningde City, Fujian Province] Ms. Xiao Xiuhua Arrested

Ms. Xiao Xiuhua was arrested on the evening of April 21, 2019, for talking to people about Falun Gong. She has since returned home.

17. [Jiayu County, Hubei Province] Ms. Zhang Jingyou Arrested

Ms. Zhang Jingyou from Paizhouwan Town was arrested at home by officers from the Paizhouwan Police Station on April 14, 2019. His whereabouts are unknown.

18. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Several Practitioners Arrested

Officers from the Jianghan District Domestic Security Division, the Manchun Street Police Station, and personnel from the Qingfen Residential Community broke into Ms. Chen Sanlan's home on the morning of April 17, 2019. They arrested eight practitioners, who were studying the Falun Gong teachings together. Seven of them including Ms. Chen, Ms. Shi Qing, and Ms. Zhou Yuqin, were taken to the Wuhan City No. 1 Detention Center.

Ms. Xu (in her 50s), Ms. Wang Lezhen, and two other practitioners were arrested by officers from the Dongxihu District Domestic Security Division, and plainclothes officers from Jiangjunlu Police Station on the morning of April 18, 2019. Their homes were ransacked.

Elderly Mr. Zhou Shuanwu from the Dongxihu District was placed in criminal detention. His home was ransacked.

19. [Lechang City, Guangdong Province] Ms. Hu Aihui Arrested

Ms. Hua Aihui was reported to the authorities when she was talking to people about Falun Gong on the morning of April 21, 2019. She was later arrested.

20. [Leshan City, Sichuan Province] Six Practitioners Arrested

Mr. Liu Zhizhao, Mr. Liang Junhua, Mr. Xia, Ms. Lei, Ms. Lin, and Ms. Dai from the Wutongqiao District were arrested on April 18, 2019. Their homes were ransacked. Ms. Dai was later released.

21. [Pengzhou City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Chen Shujun's Home Ransacked

Seven or eight people, including Gexianshan Town Government personnel and officers from the Gexianshan Police Station, ransacked Ms. Chen Shujun's home on April 21, 2019. They confiscated a computer, printer, Falun Dafa books, and printed materials.
