(Minghui.org) Ten cities in the U.S. state of Texas proclaimed Falun Dafa Day on May 11, 2019. Falun Dafa practitioners in Dallas held a celebratory event in Russell Creek in the City of Plano on the same day.

Falun Dafa, also known as Falun Gong, is a spiritual and meditation practice first taught to the public in Changchun, China on May 13, 1992 by its founder, Mr. Li Hongzhi. People all over the world have since taken up the practice.

May 13 was declared the first “World Falun Dafa Day” in 2000. On the occasion of the 20th Falun Dafa Day and also Mr. Li’s 68th birthday, Falun Dafa practitioners around the world held celebratory events and expressed their gratitude to Mr. Li.

The proclamation from the City of Addison states, “Master Li Hongzhi, the founder of Falun Dafa, has helped millions across the world improving their health and moral standards, as well as deepen their understanding of life, humanity and the universe, through the practice of Falun Dafa.”

It continues, “transcending culture and racial boundaries, Falun Dafa has touched the lives of more than 100 million people in over 80 countries, more men and women in the United States are learning the practice and purifying their hearts, energizing their bodies, and striving to create virtuous communities.”

“Falun Dafa practitioners' determination and courage to stand up for Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance while facing severe persecution from the Chinese Communist Party has shown the world the value of life and the preciousness of human dignity.”
