(Minghui.org) I started Falun Dafa cultivation practice in 1998. I would like to share two examples of how Dafa practitioners can rely on their faith in Master and understanding of the Fa to overcome difficulties.
Recovering from Poisonous Bee Sting within Minutes
One night, while retrieving our washed clothing from the balcony where it had been left to dry, I was stung on the hand by a huge poisonous bee, which was hiding in the folds of the clothing. I managed to squeeze out its long, poisonous needle. My husband and son also hurried over and grabbed my hand, then tried their best to squeeze out as much poison as possible. Despite their efforts, my fingers and then my palms, began to swell. Within ten minutes, my forearm started to swell, with signs of swelling appearing on my upper arm as well.
After an initial period of panic and helplessness, I suddenly came to my senses. I realized, aren’t I a Falun Dafa practitioner? How could I treat this with an ordinary person’s thinking? I immediately pushed my husband and son aside, shouting, “Let go! Let go of me!” I then sternly warned them, “Do not interfere in this matter. Master will look after me. I am going to my room now. Nobody is to enter or disturb me.”
I entered my room and locked the door before sitting down in the full lotus position. My hand was so severely swollen by this time that I could no longer bend my fingers. My arm was also starting to take on a rather scary appearance. I searched within to find out if I had any gaps which the evil forces had taken advantage of. I also begged Master to aid me in this understanding. Instantly, a passage from Zhuan Falun appeared in my mind,
“If a debt is owed, it must be paid. Therefore, some dangerous things may occur in the course of cultivation. When these things take place, however, you will not be scared, and neither will real danger be allowed to happen to you.” (Lecture Three, Zhuan Falun)
I realized that my life was not in danger, as Master had already taken away the poison.
What about the current swelling? Master said:
“It is known that a human body has many layers. Our physical cells are one layer, and the molecules inside are another. There is a gate placed at each layer of atoms, protons, electrons, the very microscopic particles, the infinitesimal microscopic particles, and from the infinitely microscopic particles down to the extremely infinite microscopic particles.” (Lecture Four, Zhuan Falun)
I understood from this that our bodies exist in layers, with each layer bearing our own images. I started sending righteous thoughts to clean up the evil elements within each layer, between the atoms, molecules, and cells.
When I opened my eyes ten minutes later, I found that the swelling in my hand and arm had diminished, and my hand was back to normal. I opened the door to my room and left. My husband was shocked upon seeing my rapid recovery. “Did someone come to treat you? How did you recover so fast? It’s miraculous!” With a smile I replied, “Didn’t I tell you I am under Master’s protection?”
With Righteous Thoughts, One Can Even Recover from Paralysis
I know a female practitioner who is in her sixties. Despite repeated attempts to clarify the facts about the persecution of Falun Dafa, her businessman husband staunchly refused to believe the truth.
This female practitioner was involved in a serious car accident one day. She was rushed unconscious to the hospital for treatment, and awoke to the news that she was now paralyzed from the waist down. She was soon discharged from the hospital at her request.
By the time I received news of her injury, she had already been home for four or five days. Although night was approaching, I rushed to settle my household affairs before taking the bus to her home. This practitioner’s home also doubled as her husband’s shop, and had a large yard in front secured by a huge gate. The gate was locked when I arrived, and I shook the gate hard to alert the residents within. However when the practitioner’s husband saw me, he was so angry that he started scolding me, refusing to open the gate. While apologizing profusely to the practitioner’s husband, I begged Master to help me find a way in. While he continued yelling at me, the husband angrily tossed the gate key in his hand into the bed of a big truck parked in the yard. He then turned around and stormed back to the house. Soon after, one of their hired workers happened to walk past, and I asked him for help in opening the gate.
Upon entering the house, I found the practitioner lying on her bed with her husband nearby. Upon seeing me, her husband shouted, “Aren’t you all supposed to be protected by your Master? Then why did she suffer such a severe injury?!” While placating her husband, I also tried to comfort my fellow practitioner. While crying, she described the events leading to her injury. The doctors warned her that she could not move for three months, and once dislocation occurred, she would remain paralyzed for life.
I knew that only Dafa could save her. So as not to arouse her husband’s ire, we idly chatted for awhile before I realized that she was lying on layers of thick woolen blankets. Before I took my leave, I said, “Let me buy two mattresses for you tomorrow. It is hardly appropriate to continue using winter bedding in summer.” Her husband remained silent, and this errand gave me the opportunity to visit this woman again.
The following morning, I bought two mattresses and brought them to her home. Her husband remained silent and soon left us alone while he ran an errand outside. I seized this opportunity to advise my fellow practitioner to deny the arrangements of the old forces, and to study the Fa. I promised to visit again three days later, and asked her to promise me that she would seriously listen to or read the Fa, no matter how much or little she could remember. She agreed to do this. I then proceeded to find her husband, and sought his help to play CDs containing Master’s lectures, daily for his wife.
Three day later, I visited this practitioner as promised and was surprised to find her sitting up on the bed. She greeted me with a smile and I quickly asked her to share what she had understood. While studying the Fa, she had read Master’s words:
“But in reality, what human society takes to be truths are, from the perspective of the cosmos, inversions of truth;...” (“The Closer to the End, the More Diligent You Should Be,” The Essentials Of Diligent Progress Vol. III)
She also told me, “The doctor strictly warned me against moving. However that is the view of an ordinary person. According to the understanding at higher levels, I must move.” She then attempted to turn herself over, while bracing her hands at the head of her bed. Despite the severe pain and difficulty, which left her sweating and in tears, she continued to persist. After thirty to forty minutes, she felt a warm, big hand help her up to a sitting position. She immediately assumed the full lotus position and began to practice the meditation exercise and send righteous thoughts.
Her husband found her in this position when he returned and was shocked. He immediately called his hired workers over, “Quickly come over! Falun Dafa is miraculous!” Her husband also exclaimed, “Whoever disparages Falun Dafa or refuses to quit the Chinese Communist Party will be fired.” This practitioner’s home environment was rectified in an instant.
Understanding the Fa to Deny the Persecution
From these incidents, we can see that it is hard to elevate in levels and character without truly understanding the Fa. The teachings of Dafa given to us by Master can help us deny the arrangements and persecutions of the old forces. It is important for us to learn the Fa, enlighten, and act accordingly.
