(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 16 cities or counties in 10 provinces, where at least 23 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

1. [Yingcheng City, Hubei Province] Ms. Hu Suping and Ms. Liu Jiaoya Arrested

Ms. Hu Suping, 68, and Ms. Liu Jiaoya, 71, were arrested by officers from the Baisha Town Police Station on the morning of April 4, 2019 while talking to people about Falun Gong. Ms. Liu was released due to her age. Ms. Hu was taken to the Xiaochang County Detention Center, Xiaogan City.

2. [Shijiazhuang City, Hebei Province] Ms. Li Ruicai and Husband Mr. Li Xiangjin Arrested

Ms. Li Ruicai and her husband Mr. Li Xiangjin from Xin'an Town, Zhengding County, were arrested by the Xin'an Town police. They were detained in the Zhengding County Detention Center for 15 days.

3. [Jixi City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Wang Qing and Ms. Ma Lichun Sentenced to Prison

Ms. Wang Qing and Ms. Ma Lichun were arrested by officers from the Tiexi Police Station, Jiguan District on June 21, 2018, while distributing Falun Gong materials.

Ms. Wang was given a four-year prison term, and Ms. Ma a three-year prison term by the Mishan City Court in December 2018. Both of their appeals were rejected.

4. [Zunyi City, Guizhou Province] Mr. Liu Dequn Arrested

Mr. Liu Dequn was arrested at home in the early hours of April 9, 2019.

5. [Anlu City, Hubei Province] Ms. Fang Zongju Sentenced to Prison

Ms. Fang Zongju was given a two-year prison term by the Laohekou City Court on December 18, 2018.

6. [Junan County, Shandong Province] Ms. Qian Lingmei Arrested

Ms. Qian Lingmei, 75, from Xiji Village, Yanbin Town, was arrested by plainclothes officers from the Lingquan Police Station while shopping at the Lingquan Town farmers market on the morning of March 24, 2019. The officers also took the cash she was carrying.

7. [Zunyi County, Guizhou Province] Mr. Wu Jiuhui Arrested

Mr. Wu Jiuhui from Donggongsi Town, Huichuan District, was arrested in March 2019. His whereabouts are unknown.

8. [Hefei City, Anhui Province] Mr. Gao Zonghua Sentenced to Prison

Mr. Gao Zonghua was given a one-year prison term and fined 2,000 yuan by the Shushan District Court on January 24, 2019. He appealed to the Hefei City Intermediate Court, which upheld the original verdict without a hearing.

9. [Shenzhen City, Guangdong Province] Ms. Fu Xiufang Faces Trial

The Nanshan District Court scheduled a trial of Ms. Fu Xiufang's case on April 18, 2019.

Ms. Zhang Xuemei was arrested at home on the morning of March 29, 2019. She was taken to Cangzhou City.

11. [Fushun City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Peng Guilan Arrested

Ms. Peng Guilan was arrested on April 2, 2019. Her whereabouts are unknown.

12. [Baoding City, Hebei Province] Ms. Wang Xinling Arrested

Ms. Wang Xinling was arrested by plainclothes officers on April 10, 2019 while talking to people about Falun Gong.

13. [Yushu City, Jilin Province] Mr. Fan Yunpeng Officially Arrested

Mr. Fan Yunpeng was arrested by officers from the Huachang Police Station on the afternoon of March 26, 2019. His home was ransacked.

Mr.Fan was detained for ten days in a lockup center, before being transferred to a detention center. He has been officially arrested and his case was turned over to the Procuratorate.

14. [Changsha City, Hunan Province] Ms. Zuo Xiling Arrested

Ms. Zuo Xiling was arrested by the Railway Station police while waiting to board a train with her family on the evening of April 2, 2019.

15. [Beijing] Mr. Zhang Qingshan Sentenced to Prison

Mr. Zhang Qingshan from the Changping District was arrested on April 20, 2018. He was later given an eighteen-month prison term, and transferred to the Beijing No. 3 Detention Center on March 28, 2019.

16. [Tangshan City, Hebei Province] Mr. Liu Aihui and Ms. Li Shuyan Detained

Mr. Liu Aihui and Ms. Li Shuyan from Yanhai Village, No. 9 Farm, Caofeidian District, were arrested by officers from the Caofeidian District Police Department on April 2, 2019. They were detained for 15 days in the Caofeidian District Detention Center.

Ms. Wang Sanni, Ms. Liu Xizhen, and Ms. Liu Guangyu were held in the Xingtai City No. 1 Detention Center for seven months, before they were tried by the Qiaodong District Court on the afternoon of April 11, 2019.
