(Minghui.org) In Dafa cultivation, practitioners use certain “catch phrases” from time to time to cover up their attachments. Sometimes they are aware of what they are doing, and sometimes they are not.
“It's all because of Master's protection”
There is a couple in our area, who are both practitioners. The wife often injures herself because of falling, and the husband has also experienced a few serious car accidents, but miraculously survived them all. They often say, “It's all because of Master's protection.”
There is nothing wrong in what they say and it also shows their faith in Master and Dafa. What is regrettable is that each time they encountered tribulations, they failed to look within and check their own attachments that might have brought such tribulations upon them.
Through sharing, the wife realized that she had a tendency to look down upon her husband with a competitive mindset, while the husband also realized that he still held an attachment of lust, even though he didn't do anything improper in this regard.
When he found it difficult to control his human sentiments, he would make up an excuse, or had dreams in which he didn't handle himself very well. When his wife pointed out that he still had the attachment of lust, he refused to accept the opinion, swearing that he would die in a car accident if he had such an attachment. Yet, he did get hit by a car, but survived thanks to Master's protection.
In this case, the catch phrase “It's all because of Master's protection” was used to cover up his own attachment, and at the same time he was also trying to hide his embarrassment and attachments.
“I haven't been diligent in my Fa study”
Practitioner A often injures himself accidentally. When asked why such things happened to him so often, he would say, “I haven't been diligent in my Fa study,” which sounds like an honest statement.
We noticed that this practitioner holds an attachment to his business and has not paid much attention to issues related to mobile phone security. When others pointed it out to him, he realized that he was indeed unaware of the importance of mobile phone security. In this case, the practitioner used “I haven't been diligent in my Fa study ” as an excuse for his failure to look within.
“It's all arranged by Master”
There is one other practitioner in our area who has been illegally sentenced to prison a number of times, and each time he returned home before his sentence expired. He always says, “It's arranged by Master; all the miracles are attributed to Master, and that's why I could negate the persecution and return home earlier.”
In fact, the reason why this practitioner was persecuted repeatedly is very simple – he never paid much attention to the issue of mobile phone security. We know that every mobile phone is also a bug as Master has warned us in his teachings.
Some practitioners may think: Not paying enough attention to the issue is a matter of behavior, and it has nothing to do with xinxing. Master said, “Because when you truly have faith your actions match your words.” (Teaching the Fa at the Conference in Europe)
Not paying attention to the mobile phone security issue is in fact not truly having faith in Master's Fa.
Master also said,
“Without listening to me or following the requirements of Dafa, how could you be my disciples? Isn’t this going against Dafa? If this isn’t an act of harming Dafa, what is it?” (A Heavy Blow,” Essentials for Further Advancement)
This is one of the main reasons why practitioner B has experienced repeated persecution, and it is also a case of intentionally covering up one's attachments.
Falun Dafa cultivation is magnificent and serious. We must never deviate from looking within and abandoning human attachments. Master said, “It is extremely dangerous to add anything human to cultivation practice.”(“Digging Out the Roots,” Essentials for Further Advancement)
Let us cherish this precious opportunity that only comes once in millions of years. Let us study the Fa and cultivate our xinxing well and be more diligent so that we can do the three things even better.
