(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 10 cities or counties in 8 provinces, where at least 14 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.
1. [Xiuyan County, Liaoning Province] Mr. He Keqing Sentenced
2. [Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province] Mr. Xu Zhiyin's and Ms. Liu Xin's Sentences Upheld
3. [Hulin City, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Wang Jinrong and His Family Detained
4. [Zibo City, Shandong Province] Ms. Sui Jingfang and Ms. Ma Detained
5. [Tongling City, Anhui Province] Mr. Han Zhong Arrested
6. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Ms. Li Jianhua Persecuted to Death
7. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Ms. Liu Arrested
8. [Jining City, Shandong Province] Ms. Lian Yan Sentenced
9. [Jilin City, Jilin Province] Ms. Li Junwei Sentenced
10. [Jilin City, Jilin Province] Mr. Yue Naiming Tried
11. [Jinzhou City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Xu Guixian Transferred to Prison
12. [Chengdu City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Chen Jie Faces Trial
1. [Xiuyan County, Liaoning Province] Mr. He Keqing Sentenced
Mr. He Keqing recently appealed after being sentenced to a two-year prison term. He is being held in the Anshan City Detention Center.
2. [Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province] Mr. Xu Zhiyin's and Ms. Liu Xin's Sentences Upheld
Mr. Xu Zhiyin was sentenced to four year in prison and Ms. Liu Xin to one year. They appealed to the Guangzhou Intermediate Court, which upheld their sentences.
3. [Hulin City, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Wang Jinrong and His Family Detained
Mr. Wang Jinrong and two of his family members were arrested at the Hadong Railway Station on April 5, 2019. They were detained for 15 days in the Hulin Detention Center.
4. [Zibo City, Shandong Province] Ms. Sui Jingfang and Ms. Ma Detained
Ms. Sui Jingfang and Ms. Ma were arrested Qiling Town Police Station officers on April 2, 2019, for talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong. They were held at the Linzi District Detention Center.
5. [Tongling City, Anhui Province] Mr. Han Zhong Arrested
Mr. Han Zhong was arrested at home in early April 2019.
6. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Ms. Li Jianhua Persecuted to Death
Ms. Li Jianhua, 66, died on February 4, 2019, due to long-term persecution.
In July 1999, Ms. Li went to Beijing to petition for the right to practice Falun Gong. She was detained at the Qingshan District Brainwashing Center and Detention Center. Afterward, she was subjected to forced labor twice and imprisoned for three and a half years.
In the Hewan Women's Forced Labor Camp, Ms. Li was tortured so severely that she was almost paralyzed. Her vision was affected and she was nearly blind.
After she was released, she had difficulty taking care of herself due to her injuries. The local police and residential officers still closely monitored her and targeted her for persecution. She was fired from her job.
7. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Ms. Liu Arrested
Ms. Liu, an elderly Falun Gong practitioner in Hanyang, was arrested on March 13, 2019.
8. [Jining City, Shandong Province] Ms. Lian Yan Sentenced
Ms. Lian Yan was arrested for distributing calendars with information about Falun Gong. She was tried on February 22, 2019. Her lawyer defended her innocence. On the morning of March 26, 2019, personnel from the Rencheng District Court went to Zaozhuang Detention Center and announced that Ms. Lian had been sentenced to two years in prison.
9. [Jilin City, Jilin Province] Ms. Li Junwei Sentenced
Ms. Li Junwei was arrested on April 16, 2018, for talking to people about Falun Gong. She was held in a lockup center for 7 days and then transferred to the Jilin Detention Center.
Ms. Li was tried twice and recently sentenced to three and a half years in prison.
10. [Jilin City, Jilin Province] Mr. Yue Naiming Tried
Mr. Yue Naiming from the Fengman District was arrested at home on October 30, 2018, and is being held in the Jilin Detention Center. The Fengman District secretly tried Mr. Yue before the Chinese New Year. The trial lasted only a few minutes. When his family went to the courthouse for details, those in charge made excuses and refused to meet them.
11. [Jinzhou City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Xu Guixian Transferred to Prison
Ms. Xu Guixian was arrested at home on July 19, 2018, for filing a criminal complaint against a former head of the CCP. She was taken to the Jinzhou Women’s Detention Center. The Linghe District Court sentenced her to prison for four years at the beginning of March 2019. Ms. Xu was transferred to the Liaoning Women’s Prison on March 19, 2019.
12. [Chengdu City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Chen Jie Faces Trial
Ms. Chen Jie from the Qingbaijiang District has been detained in Chengdu Detention Center for over ten months. Her case has been submitted to the Qingbaijiang District Court. A trial has been scheduled for May 2019.
