Additional Persecution News from China – March 31, 2019 (9 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 9 cities or counties in 5 provinces, where at least 19 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

1. [Beijing] Mr. Tan Shouli Taken to Brainwashing Center

Mr. Tan Shouli from Heping Street in the Chaoyang District was taken to a brainwashing center on March 26, 2019. He had been released from the Chaoyang District Detention Center two days earlier.

2. [Chifeng City, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region] Mr. Wu Jinggang Arrested

Mr. Wu Jinggang from Bairin Zuoqi was arrested on March 29, 2019. His home was ransacked and Falun Gong books, a computer, printer, and other personal belongings were confiscated.

3. [Yushu City, Jilin Province] Ms. Zhang Fengrong Detained

Ms. Zhang Fengrong was arrested at home on March 27, 2019. She is to be detained for 15 days.

4. [Tianjin] Ms. Li Zhongmei’s Whereabouts Unknown

Ms. Li Zhongmei from the Wolongbeili Residential District in the Nankai District was arrested at home on March 15, 2019, by officers from the Chundejie Police Station and Hongqiao Domestic Security Division. She was taken to the Wanxing Police Station in Nankai that afternoon.

Ms. Li's whereabouts have been unknown since March 19.

5. [Shenzhen City, Guangdong Province] Mr. Liu Peiqin and Mr. Zhang Kehui Facing Trial

Mr. Liu Peiqin and Mr. Zhang Kehui were due to be tried in the Nanshan District Court on the afternoon of April 4, 2019.

6. [Huludao City, Liaoning Province] Three Practitioners Detained

Mr. Hu Shaowei, Ms. Liu Ying, and Ms. Zhang Dongqing were arrested by Yangshan Town Police Station officers in Chaoyang County on March 24, 2019, for distributing Falun Gong materials in Lazishan, Wangyingzi Township, Chaoyang County. They are being held in the Chaoyang City Detention Center.

Officers from the Chaoyang Domestic Security Division ransacked Ms. Liu’s home on the morning of March 25. They confiscated a large paper cutter, Falun Gong stickers, and other personal belongings. Ms. Liu’s husband and son were taken away, but later released.

Their families brought a change of clothing to the detention center on March 28, but the guards did not allow them see the practitioners and refused to give them the clothes.

7. [Chongqing] Ms. Huang Zhongying Taken to Brainwashing Center

Ms. Huang Zhongying, 76, was arrested at home by officers from the Cuntan Police Station and personnel from the residential committee and Street Comprehensive Office. She was taken to the Qianzhugou Brainwashing Center in Geleshan in the Shapingba District.

Guards at the brainwashing center forced Ms. Huang to read materials slandering Falun Gong. Seven or eight people pressured her every day to give up her belief and sign their paperwork. Ms. Huang was later released.

8. [Yichun City, Heilongjiang Province] Seven Practitioners Imprisoned

Ms. Fang Zhizhen, Ms. Li Cuiling, Ms. Wu Wenjin, Ms. Liang, and Ms. Liu Yanhua are incarcerated in the Heilongjiang Women’s Prison. Ms. Liu is being held in the 13^th Ward. The others are being held in the 11^th Ward.

Mr. Bao Yongsheng and Mr. Wang Zhiqian are incarcerated in Bijiashan Prison, Shuangyashan City, Mr. Bao in the Third Team of the Second Ward and Mr. Wang in the Senior Ward.

9. [Xilinhot City, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region] Mr. Mi Chao and Ms. Song Xiaohua Tried

Mr. Mi Chao and Ms. Song Xiaohua's lawyers pleaded “not guilty” on behalf of their clients in the Xilinhot City Court on March 29, 2019. No verdicts were announced at the end of the trial, and Mr. Mi and Ms. Song were taken to the Xilinhot Detention Center.
