Additional Persecution News from China – February 25, 2019 (7 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 7 cities or counties in 5 provinces, where at least 10 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

1. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Li Xiaolin and Ms. Ren Rujie Detained

Ms. Li Xiaolin was arrested at home by officer Zhang Wen and others from the Harbin City Railroad Public Security Department when she was about to go to work on the morning of November 9, 2018. The officers confiscated her Falun Gong books and 4,000 yuan in cash. The Harbin Railroad Procuratorate issued an arrest warrant on December 12, 2018. Ms. Li is being held at the Harbin City No. 2 Detention Center.

Ms. Ren Rujie, 70, was arrested by officers from the Harbin City Railroad Public Security Department on the morning of November 9, 2018. The officers confiscated her computer, printer, Falun Gong books, more than 10,000 yuan in cash, bank card, and other items. She managed to flee on November 10. Police installed surveillance cameras in her home, her daughter's home, and her sister's home. She was arrested again on November 23. The arrest warrant was issued in December 24, 2018. Ms. Ren is being held at the Harbin City No. 2 Detention Center.

2. [Huanghua City, Hebei Province] Ms. Huo Wenling and Ms. Li Jiarong Harassed

Ms. Huo Wenling's home in Dawangzhuang Village was broken into on the afternoon of February 14, 2019 by six agents from the Luqiao Town's town government, town judicial office, police station, and village committee. The family was not at home. The agents tore off a new year's couplet, broke the window, and got inside the home. They took the picture of Falun Gong's founder, Falun Gong books, and paintings.

On the afternoon of the same day, the agents went to Ms. Li Jiarong's home, threatened her, demanded that she give up her Falun Gong books and the picture of Falun Gong's teacher. After they left, her neighbor found her lying on the ground unconscious. She was taken to a hospital for emergency treatment. She suffered a brain hemorrhage and had a craniotomy. She is still in critical condition.

3. [Wei County, Hebei Province] Ms. Kang Meizhi and Ms. Qin Zi Arrested

Wei County practitioners Ms. Kang Meizhi and Ms. Qin Zi were arrested by officers from the Nanyangzhuang Police Station on the morning of February 22, 2019 after they were reported talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong in Dongdayuntong Village, Nanyangzhuang Township. Officer Wang Lijun from the Wei County Domestic Security Division and officers from the Nanyangzhuang Police Station ransacked the practitioners' homes. Ms. Kang is being held at the Zhangjiakou Detention Center. It is said that she is subjected to five days of detention. Ms. Qin managed to flee from the Wei County Police Department.

4. [Qinhuangdao City, Hebei Province] Ms. Kang Hongying Sentenced to Prison

Ms. Kang Hongying, nearly 70, was tried by the Changli Court on January 17, 2019. Her family just learned that she was sentenced to seven months in prison and fined 3,000 yuan. Ms. Kang is being held at the Qinhuangdao Detention Center.

5. [Xiangyuan County, Shanxi Province] Ms. Dong Yuzhi Arrested

Ms. Dong Yuzhi, over 40, from Miaojialing Village, had to flee from home to avoid being harassed for telling people about the persecution of Falun Gong. She made a living by working in a dumpling restaurant in Taiyuan City. Police located her after she used her ID card. Ms. Dong was arrested at work by officers from the Changfeng Police Station of Taiyuan City on January 21, 2019.

6. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Ms. Jiang Xiaoping Arrested

Ms. Jiang Xiaoping, 56, is a former reporter in the Hubei Province TV Station. She was arrested before the 2019 Chinese New Year. Ms. Jiang was arrested at least six times before that.

7. [Beihai City, Guangxi Autonomous Region] Ms. Chen Yangui Held at Brainwashing Center

Ms. Chen Yangui was harassed repeatedly before Chinese New Year. Ms. Chen was arrested at home and taken to a brainwashing center on the morning of February 20, 2019.
