Additional Persecution News from China – February 21, 2019 (9 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 9 cities or counties in 7 provinces, where at least 19 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

1. [Nanjing City, Jiangsu Province] Mr. Dai Shujing's and Ms. Ling Jun's Case Sent to Procuratorate

Mr. Dai Shujing and Ms. Ling Jun from the Pukou District were arrested by officers from the Nanhu Police Station in Jianye District on April 17, 2018. The police confiscated over 150 items from their homes, including Falun Gong books, computers, printers, cell phones, and other items. Mr. Dai and Ms. Ling were released on bail.

On January 20, 2019, the case against Mr. Dai and Ms. Ling were filed to the Legal Department of the Jianye District Police Department, and will be submitted to the procuratorate.

2. [Chongqing] Ms. Sun Honglan Arrested

Ms. Sun Honglan from the Yubei District was arrested in a Walmart store in Huixing Town on the morning of February 18, 2019.

3. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Zhu Weijun's Case Returned to Procuratorate

Ms. Zhu Weijun was arrested at home on August 22, 2018 by officers from the Harbin Road Police Station in the Dalian Development Zone. Her home was ransacked. The Dalian Development Zone Procuratorate issued an arrest warrant on September 27. Her case was transferred to the Shahekou District Procuratorate on November 30.

The case was returned to the Dalian Development Zone Police Department for supplemental evidence on January 15, 2019. The case was recently returned to the Shahekou District Procuratorate. Ms. Zhu is still being held at the Yaojia Detention Center.

4, [Chifeng City, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region] Ms. Li Yulan Sentenced to Three Years

Ms. Li Yulan from Bairin Zuoqi was arrested by officers from the Bairin Youqi Police Department on December 25, 2017. The Bairin Youqi Court sentenced her to three years in prison on December 17, 2018. Ms. Li is being held at the Bairin Youqi Detention Center.

5. [Duyun City, Guizhou Province] Ms. Meng Xiangzhen and Mr. Luo Huangji Detained

Ms. Meng Xiangzhen and Mr. Luo Huangji were arrested by officers from the Duyun City Domestic Security Division on December 27, 2018, after they were reported for talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong in Limuzhai of Gantang Town. They are being held at the Qiannanzhou Women's Detention Center.

6. [Hangzhou City, Zhejiang Province] Ms. Shen Huiding Arrested

Ms. Shen Huiding, around 70, was arrested and had her home ransacked on January 17, 2019. She is currently held at the Hangzhou City Detention Center.

Ms. Shen's arrest left her husband, in his 70s, and her disabled daughter, who still requires care from her, in tremendous distress.

7. [Taiyuan City, Shanxi Province] Nine Practitioners’ Cases Submitted to Court

Officers from Yingze Police Department arrested eight practitioners on June 25, 2018, including Ms. Wang Suping (67 years old), Mr. Luo Baojun (62 years old), Ms. Sun Zhifen (60 years old), Ms. Zhang Qingxiang (69 years old), Ms. Zhang Runying (71 years old), Ms. Guo Runxian (68 years old), Ms. Tian Yuqin (60 years old) and Ms. Hu Lanying (65 years old). Ms. Wang Lanmei (72 years old) was arrested on October 18, 2018.

The nine practitioners’ cases were recently submitted to the Yingze District Court by the Yingze District Procuratorate.

8. [Xuchang City, Henan Province] Mr. Dai Yanliang Detained for Over Six Months

Officers from the Xuchang Police Department and the Nanguan Police Station broke into Mr. Dai Yanliang’s home and arrested him on the morning of July 21, 2018. He has been held at the Xuchang County Detention Center for more than six months.

Police submitted his case to Xuchang County Procuratorate. The procuratorate returned his case due to insufficient evidence. The police still refused to release Mr. Dai.

9. [Kangping County, Liaoning Province] Mr. Yan Shouli’s Arrest Approved

Mr. Yan Shouli was arrested by officers from the Kangping County Police Department while he talked to people about Falun Gong at the entrance to a shopping mall on the afternoon of November 12, 2018. The police illegally searched his home and confiscated his belongings. Mr. Yan was taken to the Kangping Detention Center 12 days later.

Mr. Yan’s case has been submitted to the procuratorate. The arrest has been approved.
